‘Asked if Christian B had ever shown him images of Madeleine, he said: “Look, I can’t talk about any of this. OK? I’m not allowed.”‘

This line of question always gets a “can’t respond to this” reply, they can confirm no body, no parts of the body but refuse to confirm a photo.

So according to the article, CB confessed to HB at the kite ie Dragon festival. Is this a separate confession/brag from the one in the German bar? Or was it something hinted at on more than one occasion to possibly the same associates?

I wonder if that "confession in a German bar while watching the 10th anniversary report on television" is a distortion of the press. And the reality is that HB contacted SY on the 10th anniversary and said that CB confessed to knowing everything that happened with MM (drunk but at a festival) and that CB also had videos raping women (in Praia da Luz).
I hope not. I hope there are more witnesses, but I think the dates coincide.

I bet the Sun article is 98% information read on this forum and 2% a phone call in which HB replied that he would only say one word: guilty, and that he cannot comment.

HB did say he would tell the police everything details he knows about the connection with MM so IMO this implies he knows more but can’t speak. I think we will find out soon.

I wonder by saying they don't have what they were looking for etc and still adamant CB is responsible but they don't have that much evidence (which I personally think they do ) they are playing a pressure game with FF and CB ? Giving them a reason to relax and by doing so possibly letting his guard down ? I really think LE are getting all ducks in a row , then bang, not leaving that much time for FF to respond ? after all it seems the only info FF has is by media! and I personally think LE are using it to get out just the right amount they choose to feed FF !! I think when this charge comes if indeed it does, it will be like bang, very quick, all evidence on the table and ooops look you are screwed !! JMO

yes - this is a lot more definitive.

Seems like they are looking for a witness who saw the proof themselves - i.e.a photo or video. Not that they have a photo of video.

The prosecutor described as "speculative" a recent two-day dig at Christian B's former home outside Hanover, saying: "We are checking everywhere he lived and we know from his past that he liked to bury things like the USB computer sticks that were found in a previous investigation.

Yeah - the interesting bit is about his own convictions for smuggling migrants. Looks like he got pinched so rolled over on CB on the other crimes.

Again, he has denied that they’ve found any of MMs clothing but he won’t confirm or deny photos/videos.

It could be both.
CB bragged at the Festival (March 2008?) and in the German bar on May 3 2017 whilst the documentary was being televised.
Perhaps after the two witnesses saw the rape video AND heard that CB had been imprisoned in 2017 for sexually assaulting a child that may have confirmed to them that CB's brags about MM could be true - This may be the first time they'd heard CB linked to a child sex crime?
Perhaps this did prick the witnesses conscience - as we know with hardened crims paedophilia is the worst crime and of course it may have served to slash a little from his own sentence in Greece?
Let's hope LE did find evidence at the box factory in 2016 but 4.5 years have passed since then, coupled with the witnesses evidence in 2017, I'm not holding out much hope of photographic evidence, but maybe BKK are playing the long game and are determined to find a body to solve this crime once and for all.

I think they’ve been a video or photo of MM exists by the same “friends” that saw the rape of the 72 year old woman. But I don’t think the police have it. It might have been destroyed but as they were truthful about the 72 year old woman they are classed as reliable witnesses.

UK police opened an investigation because the McCanns lobbied David Cameron. It would have been awkward to investigate any parents of a missing child lobbying for an investigation of their missing child.

The police have to do 'awkward' things all the time, it's in the nature of their job. To reopen such a high profile case that had so many strange and unexplained anomalies and not go right back to the start (and all those crucial to that start) in order to try and throw light on those anomalies would be, at best, pointless and, at worst, highly unprofessional and seriously questionable.

This thread is for discussion of CB as the suspect. It is not to rehash all old info unless you can specifically tie it to CB as the suspect.

The next member to suggest the parents had involvement in or are somehow responsible for Madeleine's disappearance will be permanently banned from this discussion.

All I meant was that a re-opening of such a high-profile investigation that didn't include a full and thorough re-investigation into everything and everyone involved in the original investigation would be, imo, and I'm sure in any objective person's opinion, a waste of time.
