I’m trying to stay unbiased but failing - I really want this to be over for them.

It's been said so many times in thirteen years, and now this new investigation - I can't even imagine what it's like for them.
The increase in social media and things like trolling etc that's taken place in that time too.

Right now, I believe that it's way too early to speculate about him to sue.

I told you about the French law about suing for speculation, but I don't have the slightest clue about German law.

That report about the Italian police arresting him under a ruse for something else is sticking in my head. The fact that they thought he was homeless - not the "playboy" image that's been described before, and holding a bible.
It could suggest a turnaround in his character and a possible confession?
Mind you, it also says that he's challenging the extradition to Germany.

That's true. People tend to forget MM had siblings and they are getting older and will read things online one day.

I'm back to now to thinking (again!) that it is initally about M and they want to link other crimes to that.

Did he only confess to knowing about M because he was drinking and her face came on the TV screen?
Do you think that this is the first time he's ever been drunk and said something about other potential crimes?
Was it all down to the drinking partner coming forward?

And they need more evidence.

This "bar confession" seems really significant for two reasons.

One, it's not the type of thing you'd just casually mention to a normal mate. For him to divulge something like that and show the other video of the wlderly woman, you'd have to assume he knew this "friend" would be open to it. Makes me wonder is this another criminal who is providing the information as a bargaining tool to get himself out of trouble.

The second thing is what we haven't been told about the meeting. I'm sure the conversation wasn't confined to "I know what happened to her" and "have a look at this other rape video". What else was said? You'd assume the first thing the friend would ask is "what happened then?".

This "bar confession" seems really significant for two reasons.

One, it's not the type of thing you'd just casually mention to a normal mate. For him to divulge something like that and show the other video of the wlderly woman, you'd have to assume he knew this "friend" would be open to it. Makes me wonder is this another criminal who is providing the information as a bargaining tool to get himself out of trouble.

The second thing is what we haven't been told about the meeting. I'm sure the conversation wasn't confined to "I know what happened to her" and "have a look at this other rape video". What else was said? You'd assume the first thing the friend would ask is "what happened then?".

I think they’re keeping a lot back on that encounter. I guess the “friend” would’ve have to tread carefully though. It’s almost better in those situations to seem disinterested - it was motivated by hubris and a need to impress and too much interest might make him clam up again.

I agree, think the same can be said on the phone numbers. There would presumably be other numbers on the log that they will have followed up on to prove if this was CB phone. Seems they are trying to prove it was still with him right up to the event.

One report said he made/ received ten calls around that time so yes! They know. And I believe one of the numbers was his - I think they wanted to have people confirm it to them for certain.

I can't imagine how investigators that have to view these sex abuse videos can stand it...I couldn't sleep if I had to do it. So appreciate those that can so that at least some of these monsters can be caught.

I understand you completely and I feel with you. Must be very hard to look at, especially if you have (little) children yourself. Remember this are pro's, they only be exposed to it for a maximum amount of time and there is professional psychological help around to consult all the time. Personally I'm more concerned about the children. What about them? IMO the evil starts with people wanting to buy or enjoy childporn or wanting to abuse children in the first place, from there the whole "machinery" is starting up, with all the horrible things that go with it.

Was looking back through the PJ files to see if there was any information on the first time they investigated CB. Couldn't find anything specific, guess because of his background info it was too sensitive to list.

Did find one mention of his forename but probably unrelated as it's a common name. Someone made a lurid claim about another suspect in the case that apparently her boyfriend told her about. Bit odd why the boyfriend wasn't the one who came forward though. Link below.

The article above does seem to link Diogo Silva as the Ocean Club employee who worked there. Is this right? Wasn’t that all guess work? Does someone have proof that DS worked right there at that time?
