They didn't retain the DNA evidence though.............

IMO It'll be very hard to secure a prosecution in this case - HB can't even ID her attackers face. Maybe his 'scars' but doubt that's enough even with known MO and the fact that FF says CB has no 'scar' on his leg/bottom.
I think HCW may get a prosecution in the playground incident as there seems to be quite a few witnesses.

"One problem they will face is that vital forensic evidence with potential DNA was destroyed on the orders of a judge, a common practice in Portuguese cases where no suspect is identified."

Typical Portuguese cases, probably helps cover things up for them

I'm not going to debate about all of this yet again. What I did end up finding to be more disturbing is some posters here claiming to be here for the sake of children/helping others yet wishing for little girls to be tortured for days just for the sake of having a suspect. Your actions on the latest posts + the mess up of that JC articles show more about personality of some people than one could ever find in other places. You would see more compassion in the flthest of places. Good luck having what you guys want.

The question is why?

I'm far away from mocking up the PJ, but convicted people in charge writing books that blame everone else than the real perps in paedo paradises due to lax penalty laws?!

Obviously usual....;)

Please feel free to show us where to look at! Seriously! For myself, i would like to understand what you are talking about! Honestly!

I know, that there must be some vile virtual reality out there, that even the tabloids do not like to report about, because there wouldn't be enough "clicks"...

It's going to be a minority of the PJ granted, but those above give the orders, but look at the scandals and cover ups, or none investigated stuff etc etc

Understand this. My point was “... providing a DNA profile had been retained.” In other words, was the profile retained before the evidence was destroyed? Pretty sure this is the common Portuguese practice but not reported by PJ bashing media.

Was it common Portuguese practice to take swabs in 1999 / 2006 upon a persons arrest/imprisonment?
They certainly took photo's of CB in 1999.

I've found the answer to my question here......

"The genetic DNA database was created seven years ago (2010) If all defendants sentenced to more than three years in prison were on the platform, they would already have 42,000 profile samples. But there are only 6000 according to Diario de Noticais."

DNA database only has 6000 profiles of convicts – It should have 42,000 | Safe Communities Portugal

According to Sexta9 -episode of July 24th, 2020- Portuguese LE was comparing CB's DNA to other samples dating from 2007.

Exactly

We've been through this before. The testing was already done and a profile obtained. So the original evidence cannot be retested, but mostly there is no need. I believe they still have the profile they lifted, which will be a report on the file.

There are lots of legal issues with retaining DNA of anyone arrested, regardless of whether they are convicted of anything.

Such a database only became legal in the UK in 2003, after the police had been illegally retaining samples.

I am not sure what the story is in germany. Portugal clearly requires a judges order.

But in any event, we know that under his current rape conviction, his profile did match the hair sample that was analysed.

Exactly.

The problem likely is that his DNA doesn't match any cold cases they have.

If he matched the Behan case, he'd be charged in a hot minute.

Here is the first part of the latest case documentary made by BILD, now accessible for everyone.

I hope, subtitles are available in your particular countries.
