Interesting... so would this mean she is a key witness against CB ? Why wouldn't she talk to her father then?

I honestly don’t know. HCW apparently told JC that ‘people like her’ told them a lot about CB and that she was a witness not a suspect. Make of that what you will.

I imagine it’s because he spoke to the press but who knows.

I reckon we are going to see a prosecution within the next few months of CB.

The cunning part of me believes this is a check from LE to see how tight there case is.

Get the media discussing it theorising etc...

maybe I’m over thinking it..just feels orchestrated.

I'm bracing myself...

More MM true crime fanfic :p

I wonder how HCW is going to react to this? More exclusives in the Mirror?

Interesting bits from the Bild article:
  • "Der Maddie-Verdächtige soll für die Tatnacht ein Alibi haben!"
    • translated as should, not that he does have an alibi
    • she is German, but cannot remember whether that specific night they were together with CB...
Mai keinerlei Verhaltensänderung gezeigt." followed by "... Polizeikontrolle geraten, in der Beamte nach Maddie suchten. Auch hier habe sich Brückner nicht auffällig verhalten."-
    • Bs, that she did not spot any difference in CB's behaviour after the 3rd of May, even when they were stopped at a (possibly routine) police check in the days after MM's disappearance. Useless info and subjective judgement; does not add anything to the investigation nor to his supposed alibi.
    • that the mobile could have been used by another German (male) on that day, who appears in the investigation only as a witness - if this was so, wouldn't this witness already have notified BKA? ...
  • "Ist die Zeugin glaubwürdig?"
    • is the female witness credible asks the article, and the answer comes from Axel Petermann.
      • it appears this witness raises more questions than answers - why were they not together every night? is the witness even able to recognize a change in CB's behaviour?
According to Axel, these statements do not constitute an alibi yet
So there we are! Nothing!
jmo

ETA: as per @SuperdadV8 link Neue Zeugin aufgetaucht: Hat der Maddie-Verdächtige ein Alibi?

ETA2: No mention in this article about phone records of CB; and no mention of him being 30 mins away from PdL. Perhaps these 30 mins away come from the place where the female witness is?

The idea you can get to the bottom of all this just by talking to some witnesses is silly, and also potentially damaging to any prosecution. This is why we have police interviews, court evidence and cross examination etc.

In his Pistorius interview, MWT perpetuates the myth that somehow his softball interview gives better insight that the multiple days Pistorius spent on the stand being rigorously examined & cross examined. Evidence which was key to him being finally convicted of murder.

I believe the shooting of Reeva Steenkamp was a tragic accident. I am in no doubt that Oscar loved Reeva and had no intention to kill her. On that fateful morning he reacted instinctively. Shooting when he heard noises and fearing he was being burgled.

I am the only independent observer who has heard Oscar’s personal account away from the courts.

OK, so according to this article there is no rock solid alibi.
Back to square one.

Let's just see what's the real deal, before judging. There are just snippets from british tabloids yet.

If there is an alibi at the end, it is to be accepted. But an alibi after 1.5 years of keeping quiet, revealed by a tv team, will always be something that has to be judged carefully. To me it's more a "bard" - issue, the prosecutors will carefully have in mind.

But of course, the recently published info is far away from being a "bombshell" or twist in a "crumbling" case. That's for sure.

We've had some misleading headlines during this case but this one takes the biscuit if the BILD article is accurate and what the claim is based on. Absolute clickbait from MWT to promote his doc, this is no evidence of an alibi.

If anything, I can see this being more of a problem for CB than a help. It establishes where he was staying at the time, so he cannot claim he was living elsewhere. And yet the woman he was staying with cannot recall if he was with her on the 3rd!? I find that a little suspicious given how much it was in the news. When you hear something like that happening in your local area, it's natural to think back to where you were and who you were with at the time.

Worth noting that police have already interrogated her too, so it's likely MWT hasn't discovered anything BKA didn't already know, so they obviously aren't concerned that this account disrupts their theory. It could even be that this was the alibi CB gave to police in 2013. In which case CB does have a big problem if the woman isn't prepared to say he was definitely there with her that night, since this actually gives him no verifiable alibi at all.

You are so right Dlk79. It reveals a yet possibly unknown but frequently used whereabout and it's surroundings....

I agree with you. Since this female witness has already been interrogated by police, there is nothing in her testimony that HCW does not already know.

Moreover, the other person, a German man who might have had CB's phone on the day, is also classed as a witness, so again HCW knows of him and whether he had the phone on that day or not.

From these snippets, we can see 2 witnesses who are already known to police, classed as witnesses and most probably already interrogated - the new info that comes from this is just that they talk publicly... so, they cannot be key witnesses! oh well, there was a glimpse of hope for a moment MM was not in the hands of this psycho...

But its said CB confessed at a kite festival in 2008 and all manner of rewards were on offer, yet it wasn't until 2017 the guy who heard the confession is alleged to have got a conscience and contacted SY, yeah right.

Doubt being cast on a poss alibi after a few months but years after a grass allegedly knew is considered a worthy witness.

I have a low opinion of MWT but I nevertheless find it hard to believe that what's been detailed above in the various links is the sum total of his so-called game-changing bombshell doc.

Surely not?

If it is the case then it won't be so much a case of falling off chairs as hiding behind them with cushions over our faces in second-hand embarrassment.

Ah now i get you. Well HB was a credible witness in the case of DM also a few good years after the fact and him saying it. It is different though with this witness as they say she has been already interrogated. So did she lie to police or this "maybe we were together" says nothing meaningful?

Wolters contradicts alibi speculations

( I cannot copy the whole text)

The "Bild" newspaper reports that B. is said to have been exonerated by a woman. According to the newspaper, she had spent time with the main suspect "almost every evening" around the time of the crime. However, she could not say for sure whether they had also met on the evening of the crime.

So is there now a spectacular turn of events in the Maddie case? Is Christian B. not the main suspect after all? The responsible public prosecutor's office in Braunschweig strongly contradicts the speculations.

They have "no knowledge of an alibi", public prosecutor Christian Wolters told "RTL". "Neither the accused nor his defence lawyer has commented on the matter to us," Wolters said. The media reports apparently consisted primarily of conjecture, the prosecutor said.

The phrasing of HCW almost points out to a possible interrogation in the past...

Could explain an FF suddenly becoming very tight lipped?!

FF's ductus has changed noticeable, from claimed innocence to a more dedicated direction.

In his last interview (parts of it in the BILD-link) he just quoted:

1. My client claims to have nothing to with the deed.

2. My client has been prejudiced.

Interesting!
