I really do not want to look at it again, so there might a word or two that are different, but it's basically the chat that has been posted here several times from other media, he doesn't really say kid, he said "I want to ... something little" which sounds even worse. And he says he will film it and document how he is torturing her. The other person says "cool". And in the end he says "yeah, but now do it and not just talk about it, hehe".

I'm interested in the use of the word "finally". Would imply that he had never done it before and given this conversation took place after MM, it "could" be significant. I know the German language is more complex than English, they have about 20 different connotations for the word "The" so just wondering if this phrase of 'finally' may have another meaning in the context?

I'm a bit behind, so I don't know if somebody else replied to this, in this context it doesn't mean "finally" in the sense of "never done it before and it's finally time", it's in the sense of "I really really need it, I'm eager to do it" which doesn't say anything about doing it for the first time or just wanting it again. It even sounds more like it's not something he hasn't done before, he talks about it like other people when they say "I really want some coffee now".

This "bar friend" must be an unsavoury character too IMO. If this is all true, you don't keep a massive secret like that for 10 years then spill the beans to some innocent guy and hope he's into that sort of thing and wont tell.

It's not been mentioned anywhere when/how this guy came forward with the information or who he is even. I suspect it wasn't out of concern though, more likely he is caught up in something too.

I can't stop thinking about the disappearance of German teenager Georgine Krüger. They finally after many years caught her killer, never found the body though. That wasn't too long ago but I follow so many cases that I don't remember every detail. But at some point they had a suspect and an undercover policeman befriended him and got him to trust him so much that he also (probably also drunk at a bar? Not sure about that anymore) confessed to him. The TV program "Aktenzeichen XY" was also involved in this, something like they reported on the case and while it was on TV or just a bit after it, the killer confessed to the undercover cop. And then they still had to investigate at least for a while as far as I remember. It was a neighbor living in an apartment building not far from hers, he somehow got her to go to his basement with him and that's where he raped and killed her.

2. In Peneda-Geres, N Portugal.

I seem to remember that one of these sightings was disregarded but am unsure which one. Would be grateful if anyone could advise..

That 'orphanage' in Foral, Portugal seems highly dubious. Would expect more information to come from here.

I am thinking of voice-recognition. Voice is as idiosyncratic as a fingerprint; you may learn to modulate, stimulate or impersonate but, ultimately, voice is highly distinct, remarkable and personal. I wonder if this has a part to play in victim-recall?

The Irish rape victim the media reported about today Hazel Behan noted that he took his shoes off AND set up a video camera. I wonder at the time whether he'd have used his cell phone to record - were cell phones even that good in 2007 for video? I don't recall which phone I was on at the time or what the quality was like....

What if - after 2013 and before 2017 - his close knit community of friendly neighbourhood pedophiles led him to someone who really was linked to the case? What if that’s how he got the detail to later boast about the crime?

Here are the images of the property in question. This is where the suspect lived from 1999 to 2006. The satellite image was taken within days of Madeleine's disappearance on May 3, 2007.

I’ll try and find the page where it was discussed, but yeah the shape is wrong. Also the vehicle appears to have been sat there for an extended time as there are no track marks in the overgrowth surrounding it
