So this seems all very detailed with real detailed quotes, even as to which crimes will be charged - but I can't find any MSM confirmation of this story?

I can't for the life of me understand how Olive Press has all these juicy details from HCW and there isn't even a german media story on it?

So I am wondering is this really a new story or a rehash of what was being talked about weeks ago?

I think the article is mainly just confirming progress of the charges that were being talked about 2 months ago. The update is essentially that FF has had his 3 weeks to review the case files and has now (as expected) played the Italy card. FF/CB did have the option to waive the need for the authorities to update the EAW with Italy but that was never likely to happen. So now, we are just waiting on Italy to agree to the updated warrant before the Prosecutors officially announce the charges. I think most MSM will probably wait for that to happen before reporting on it.

Apart from confirmation that they are indeed pursuing charges for the 2 rapes seen on video, there is only really two other bits of "new" info in that article I would say. One is that Hazel B's lawyer denies that she claimed the culprit had a cross-shaped tattoo (which is what FF is trying to infer) although I did also see a report (in an Irish paper I think it was) recently that she claims this was a mistranslation by the Portuguese. The other is the following assertion by JC:

A prosecution against Brueckner, 45, in the case of abducted Madeleine, who vanished in Portugal, in May, 2007, will follow immediately after.

Hard to know whether this is really accurate or not. Maybe JC is ahead of the curve and does indeed have some inside knowledge about the Prosecutors plans. I do think that there may be a common link between the cases in terms of written autobiographic accounts and that if they achieve convictions in the other cases, that is what they want to then proceed with the MM charge as their case relies heavily on that evidence. JMO.

Or, the above claim could just be a play on what HCW stated 2 months ago when he said that they wanted to close out these other cases and they would then focus exclusively on MM. Mentioned here previously:

"My colleagues are rather working on these other cases in order to be able to close this project in the near future. When it is finished, we will deal exclusively with Maddie"

I have been also wondering about the MSM silence. However in Germany I think they have many more cases happening now so it is understandable that the German MSM choose to report on those - for example the murder of a 15 yo girl - Getötete 15-Jährige in Salzgitter: Staatsanwalt über die aktuellen Ermittlungen - Video - WELT

This silence therefore especially in German media does not raise any eyebrows especially as the article by JC is only discussing some progress in the investigation and not the final charges.

Germany/Portugal - Hazel Behan (20) (working on the Algarve, June 15, 2004, Praia de Rocha, Portimao, Portugal) - *Christian Stefan Bruekner (27 @time of 1st crime (2004)/45) charged (in Feb, 2022) with sexual assault. No update 6/23/22

Germany/Portugal - a 15 yr old teenager & an elderly Irish lady – took place around the same time (2004) on the Algarve & are on video.

Germany/Portugal – 10 year old German girl (on Zalema beach, near Praia da luz, April, 2007).

Germany/Portugal – 3 children (exposed himself in playpark, São Bartolomeu de Messines, June, 2017).


That's 5 cases. And I noticed the article mentioned a Joana.E - which case would she fall under - ? - is that the 10 year German girl? TIA if someone knows.

In the podcast JC did with Donal McIntyre he said he was helping / liaising with HCW in regard to two Eastern Europeans possibly Ukranians in regards to it being a to order abduction. We don’t know
if this came to anything or if it is a credible lead ? It maybe why JC has released this small update as he has been informed by BKA . JMO

there were 3 rapes on the video. A teenage girl. A middle aged woman speaking italian and DM. The BKA did search already in 2019 via public for the teenage girl. It would be fantastic if they both recognised their case from HB description and came up.

I remember Manfred S. telling the journalists in one of his latest interviews, that the older victim on the video repeatedly said "aiuto", what means "help" in italian.

But i'm more concerned about, if they may haven't been able find the alleged victims from the videos, because this could mean the worst result of these ordeals as well. As far as i understood Manfred S., these videos have been made in CB's home, what differs from the Hazel B. amd Diana M. cases. And we've had just a small insight in what he did at his Neuwegersleben property....

Yes, DM is Diana. But he is already in prison for the rape of her but there were two other rapes on the video, an Italian speaking woman and a teenage girl so I assume it’s the two video rapes, the rape of Irish HB and the two child abuses ( playground and beach)

The olive press had CB being charged in February, this from last december.

The answer to your first set of questions is pretty simple : there are no charges yet, we are in the middle of the process. They will definitely happen once CB is extradited from Italy. It's not big news yet. They have other new cases in Germany to deal with - I doubt all the journalists are waiting for the extradition of CB. Once this happens and CB is charged, I am sure many MSM will pick this up. This new article by JC is just keeping the interested people afloat with what is happening. The most important thing is that there is progress. And a couple of new quotes by HCW.

JC is not a random journalist - he is one of those journalists who have been following the case very closely. There are not many left and it doesn't surprise me that HCW talks to him. HCW talks to whomever has been following the case closely and asks for his time and when he has something to say. This is HCW's job by the way, he acts as a liaison between the Prosecutors office and the media. It is also pretty usual in the job to have a close relationship with someone from LE and vice versa.
