Does that mean that all this info re the rapes has come from Manfred S and Helge B? And that there's no actual video evidence of the rapes?

Where is that info from? Can you probably go into further detail about that?

The only place I can see that I have on video is from the April comment:
April 28, 2022 Update: Brueckner is also under investigation for two further rapes carried out in Portugal close to where McCann vanished. Hans-Christian Wolters, from the Brunswick prosecutor’s office in Germany, revealed that Bruekner faces investigation over the cases. Wolters said: ’We haven’t spoken in depth about the other two cases, but I confirm we are looking into them. ‘These are two further rape cases & are in addition to the sexual assault on a little girl at the beach & the case of Hazel Behan. ‘These two rape cases are from evidence provided at Brueckner’s trial in 2019 from two witnesses who said they found footage on a video camera of him attacking these two women. ‘We have not been able to identify either of the victims. We actually hope to have these cases all closed within the next few weeks & then it will be possible to consider charges for these. HCW said there will be an update/announcement at the end of May about the progress of these 5 potential charges.

But I believe I shall delete that line from my notes.

I'm just trying to establish if the evidence given by MS and HB to the BKA was verbal only ie. their recounting of what they saw on the tapes, or verbal backed up by video footage which the BKA had sight of. Because it's sounding more like the former than the latter.

I think it's important to know, either way.

AFAIK it was verbal, there were a lot of references to the tapes having gone missing/left in the van/ scrapped with the van, in early press reports, but maybe they've been found or copies have been found since, who knows.
Hope to find out in due course.

As soon as i know about the start of the trial, i'm going to post it in here. But don't expect too much info, the trial is going to be held under exclusion of the publicity due to the age of some of the victims.

What is kind of strategy as well IMO.

Yes, it would have to be, surely? I don't know the ins and outs of German law but I doubt it allows for 5 wholly separate accusations to be neatly packaged up into one charge/trial.

Our German (lawyer) friends on here will presumably put us straight on this.

No matter what people in here say about JC he does seem to have a source in the BKA. He had the exclusive about the indictment a couple of hours before. So I am inclined to believe the MM case will follow the trials of these cases. 3 in the juvenile court and the 2 other brutal rapes.

Going on the large time frame 2000-2006 I’m presuming they haven’t located/ physically spoken to the victims as they’d know exactly when the attacks occurred. The testimonies of MS and HB wouldn’t be enough . Like @SuperdadV8 said CB could also have put on the darknet or maybe they have found the original footage.Also proof of a cut off point of CB devices finishing up in 2006 and restarting when he comes out in Dec . I think the BKA have post Dec 2006 digital evidence as well and sadly whatever that contains.
