is it even possible to solve a case after so long, with early investigation being worthless and no body ? like how

I think they hoped to find the body once they identified the perp. Going public was about trying to get the breakthrough from anyone who could give them intel about his movements etc

Regardless of what PS might say, once he was identified as a suspect, you would expect that all the properties connected to him would be searched for all types of evidence.

HCW told this journalist that CB was commissioned by a paedophile ring so there may be additional comms that make it clear.

Which is at odds with HCW saying CB is the only suspect, unless the piece you copied reads wrong, its "that then killed her", should it be "then killed her".

They've identified 'a' suspect but is he the one ?

I guess that remains to be seen.
Obviously they consider him their best bet and are determined to prove themselves correct, however long it might take.

There is a case against Brueckner.

There never was against the McCanns.

In an attempt to stab the consciences of people who groundlessly accused the McCanns.
Why bother? It won't change anyone's opinion.

Why bother commenting on a message board at all?
To express an opinion or pose a question, not to try and change the views of others.

Still no news about charges or trials. I suppose they must still be sorting out the location.

Are they not waiting for Italian court or courts to approve the desired further actions? Such things rarely happen quickly.

That's with the other charges. I think we both agree it's extremely unlikely he's going to be charged with anything with a MM connection.

According to Bild CB's lawyer has asked for his client to be dealt with in another court, not Braunschweig.

The trial process has started including the jurisdiction question. I suspect we won't hear anything until a verdict is handed down.

It was started in the Braunschweig court, but until jurisdiction is decided I don't think CB will be tried; I may be wrong, but that's my impression.

Are trials held in secret in Germany ? Do journalists not attend court proceedings ?

No. Criminal trials are open to the public in Germany.

From January 2023;

This year he was to be tried at the Braunschweig Regional Court for rape and sexual abuse of children...But now it is suddenly no longer clear whether Braunschweig is even responsible for the case!..Brückner's defense attorney, the Kiel star lawyer Friedrich Fülscher (38), has questioned the jurisdiction of the regional court. The public prosecutor derived it from the fact that the suspect had his last registered place of residence in Germany in 2016 in Braunschweig. That, says Füscher, is not enough...The district court of Braunschweig refers to the ongoing examination and does not comment. According to BILD information from legal circles, however, the regional court tends to be willing to follow the arguments of the defense attorney.

The most up-to-date information I can find is from October last year that Brueckner would stand trial on matters unrelated to Madeleine Spring or early Summer this year.
