I agree, there was no logic to MWT’s conclusion that CB had an alibi for the night in question, nevertheless I do believe CB attempted to foist one on him which he appears to have accepted uncritically l
Completely agree. This is the same MWT who also claims Jeremy Bamber & Oscar Pistorius are also innocent!!!

I frown & wince at this notion that he’s some sort of skilled fact finder who hands over credible information.

I can’t accept that after a 4 day PDL visit armed with a microphone & a cameraman, that he just happens to uncover things that up to 100 highly skilled active investigators (with access to all of the evidence files) haven’t in 6 years.

IMO he’s not capable of adding value to the investigation & he won’t. But he is capable of getting quick lines from suspects or convicts & retailing them via documentaries, books & interviews. IMO it’s far easier & much faster to ‘assess’ & report in the way MWT does.

I agree with that.

It is my opinion that had CB a valid alibi, he would still be serving his time in a German jail but not as the prime suspect in a murder inquiry and BKA and prosecutors would have closed the book on him
Alibi for what? They still haven't decided on any charges.

He very likely had limited funds available, unlike the German investigators it seems. But do you really think 100 of them are involved? After six years?

(MWT can see what many of us can see. And he's entitled to his opinion like everyone else)

CB seemed to think an alibi for the night Madeleine disappeared would be useful to his case, so that, for a start…

It would have to be some alibi imo for the investigators to not just ignore it. After all the time and resource they've invested I don't think they'd give up that easily.

Alibi for what?! LOL If he is really innocent....
If not, ok, wait for the charges to try to fabricate one. But one that can be minimally "credible".

I have not heard your alibi, @onemoremiletogo. Do not say you were not charged as an excuse ... :D

He knows the prosecutor only talks about murder. Not about abduction. I'm sure his lawyer has told him the prosecutors very likely have no interest at all in whatever happened on May 3rd (because they can't prove any theory they might have). So an alibi for that evening would be useless.

Even an innocent person can't necessarily provide an alibi for a particular time and place.

Even then, there seems not certainty as to when and where this alleged murder took place.
Without those details an alibi is impossible

Yes, HCW has stated they’ve had up to 100 personnel working on this. MWT is entitled to an opinion but his opinion will never stack up to the facts the BKA have & the wealth of expertise at their disposal. I don’t subscribe to (even remotely) or find it appropriate when
any investigative journalist tries to sell a weak & controversial theory during what is active murder investigation. Nor, in this case, an investigative journalist who thinks he’s written off a huge murder investigation after 4 days in the sun with a microphone & a cameraman.
He’s entitled to his opinion but he’s not entitled to his ‘facts’.

I think he's just playing games to waste police time and resources.

Yes. Circles...and circles...

It's not what his letters seem to mean.

Anyway - there is a big new US trial with all kinds of fascinating legal developments to follow, so I am going to focus on that, as we have indeed discussed all of this many times.

Be interesting to see if anything further happens this summer!

meanwhile, enjoy the heat ;)

I'm getting a distinctive whiff of déjà vu here. ;)

See you in late Summer, or maybe Autumn, or perhaps even Winter! So many threads, so many seasons we've shared.

There have been many false dawn's in the case, this is no different imo.

MWT, the source for the story of an alleged alibi by CB given to MWT originated from the Sun which is not an approved source on WS, he planned to meet CB but was blocked by the prison authorities, communicating through, its alleged letters.

More Chinese whispers imo.

Did you not watch MWT's documentary in which he makes exactly the same claims as to having received a letter from CB outlining his alibi for the night of 3rd May? Just because the Sun reported it doesn't automatically make it a false story. This obsession with the Sun as if everything they ever write is a lie is a bit immature imo.
