So if I'm understanding it correctly via The Sun/Mirror -they have no forensic evidence that she's dead and can't say what the've got on CB.

I know it’s unlikely she’s still alive, but she could be. And here’s the thing...she was taken at such a young age, it’s hard to know what she would look like today. I know the eye defect was distinctive, but have age progressions proven to be reliable?

Mr. Wolters said “It was only personal opinion and speculation.”

Too bad for a State Prosecutor.
"I said ‘I believe’ because in cases where children were kidnapped, they made a sexual crime then killed."

It's tricky to completely understand the article never mind HCW's quote but what I think he means is that children who are kidnapped and victims of a sex crime are usually killed. And statistically that's true imo
He's not saying what/if they know what has happened to M.

I read once in a novel that they do the age progression that is released but also an ‘abuse’ age progression if circumstances were less than ideal. I don’t know if it is a true fact in a fictional story.

On what planet would you hear someone say they could transfer children in their van and not question that? Madness.

I may have to move away from this now as I’m finding it so emotionally difficult.
I think very often criminals leak info far and wide about their crimes. It’s hard to keep secrets. The truth or at least part of it leaks out.

I think it strikes the listener as so bizarre that they don’t know where to file it in their mind. Also, I think people make excuses for others when they leak info like this. The listener tends to think that they might have misinterpreted what they were trying to communicate, etc. It’s so hard to believe that someone you know is capable of atrocities.

He was at an orphanage so perhaps Dieter’s dad was thinking it was to do with those children. Although if he didn’t report before now...

But he said they knew MM was dead. He was talking about a concrete case and not abstract things. Dishonorable for a State Prosecutor.

This is my only hope, that somewhere there’s a 17 year old with that eye defect questioning themselves. All other earlier appeals she would have been to young to really see anything but at 17 that’s different. Wishful thinking I know, and if she was still alive I’m sure she would have had memories from being younger :(

I agree, something that was said back then takes on a different meaning now.

I was trying to watch the Netflix series earlier today when my daughter asked about it. I gave her a sanitised version for now. She wanted to know where she is now. Still missing. Is anybody looking for her today? Yes. This minute? Yes. This second? Yes. It was very reassuring to her that people still want to find her.

Also there appears to be another vehicle - a much bigger caravan?!

IMO The German Police have been pressured into making this statement. The MET and MM's parents want the evidence but they cannot possibly divulge this evidence to them, hence the back tracking.
