Yeah, the thing that keeps bothering me about this is the fact that he doesn't seem to have a pattern. He steals, he sells drugs, he rapes older women, he beats his girlfriends and then, he abducts a 3-year-old girl, and then another boy, and then another girl, and then he's suspected of doing something to a 16-year-old girl? It's confusing.

IMO it would make it harder to link the crimes. My theory is that he is a sexual sadist and enjoys the control of the victim, the fear. For that he would just need the victim to be vulnerable and someone he could control. So a child, or a woman at home alone, age not completely relevant. From what I've read that's rare, only a very small percentage of sex offenders are sadistic.

I am most interested in how many of these "suggested" possible links hold any water. I can see that two suggested ones (Rene H and Monika P) appear to have already been looked at and dismissed.

I wish more reliable news sources in the UK were offering better coverage. I expect People Mag in the US to offer a summary since the MM case was also huge over here.

Sorry I disagree it was just down to laziness and protecting tourism. There is generally not much DNA left at rape scenes. No police knew the details of the rape until 2017 when someone saw the video and told them. If you look into who in Europe has the worst record on rape convictions it is not the Portuguese, the figures are terrible in many countries including England which is right at the bottom.

I actually think a rape could leave a lot of evidence (if not washed of by the victim afterwards or cleaned up by the perp).

In my opinion the problem with rape cases are that they boil do to the consent issue and that's what makes them hard to prove.

But I am no expert and could have it wrong.


This prep however, seems to wear specific clothing to help limit this potential for DNA. But all you need is one hair.

Absolutely. I genuinely believe the twins are all that saving her. I feel absolutely terrible for her. Cannot even fathom the guilt she must feel. I hope she finds peace and an ability to forgive herself and free herself from the constant stress and pain she must feel.

I wonder if this man was mentally handicapped? I don't mean your usual psychopath. It could address why we are so confused with the inconsistency of his crimes etc
I also find the preying on girlfriends thing super odd, hiding under her bed to attack her? Normally partners are spared and it's often a double life type situation where they have been none the wiser.
It would explain how we can't make "sense" of much of his actions. He's just an off the wall, erratic, anything goes type.

I was replying to another poster who wrote :

So my reply was to give my opinion, that it isn't mainly the lack of DNA in rape cases but the consent issue that produces these dismal low rape convictions.

To me, this was a man in unbelievable emotional agony and repressed rage. He was given up for adoption to a children’s home by his birth mother. He may have felt rejected and abandoned. He said he was beaten by his adoptive father. He said he had a sad childhood. Did he feel love from his adoptive mother? Reportedly, she has no relationship with any of the three sons she adopted. When the adoptive father was injured in the car accident, it was reported CB was sent to a school for (troubled) kids with learning disabilities. This would have triggered more feelings of rejection and abandonment.

Its clear he hates women of any age. He destroys the children (raping and murdering them) as his own childhood was destroyed. He seeks love from his girlfriends but simultaneously destroys the relationships with cheating, jealousy and abuse. Finally, he’s seeking relationships with older women, looking for a mother figure. His ex wondered if he was sleeping with some of them, and he ends up raping one (rage).

He’s a tortured soul...
