The photos of his house look like it’s lived in. Lights on, fire going, general stuff everywhere. Where they taken recently, or could they be stills from a video?
I think from the British exgirlfriend, the type of photo makes me think this. The one he met at work, was violent in public with and hid under bed.

Speculation

For those worried CB is not getting charged - he is the fall guy, that’s his role and one he agreed to whether he wanted to or not back in 94.

I think MM was alive until 2013.

Too many people have seen a video or at least have talked of one in the latest ‘ringbusts’ and so it is finally time for the fall guy to play out. This ties up the loose end and no need to look any further to where she ended up.

If CB is 'the fall guy', he should be 'singing like a canary', but he's not, he's, well quite.

Hiding under her bed and how he just got up and walked out is very Mr. Bean like.

If he played a part in M's abduction and whatever happened after to her, why would he not leave Portugal as he had a habit of doing?
Perhaps no sufficent finances to make a long trip?
That could point to the abduction as impulsive and not planned, either by himself or organised by others imo

He stayed for approx 2 years in Foral (friends who put him up?) working in odd jobs and then left for Germany - Dresden.

According to Portuguese newspaper Expresso (A primeira página do Expresso), new evidence is based on a "phone call" and "biological evidence'.

So they probably have something that puts him next to Madeleine, they just don't have the evidence of the crime (body).
No body, no death, no crime?

Also I doubt that he ditched the phone.
He seems sloppy, impulsive and disorganised to me and not very smart.
He left video's in his old home! He hid memory stick, which was found. He's already been imprisoned for various crimes
BUT on occasion he has just been LUCKY that's all - a lucky escapee from a very messy, competitive, cross border investigation.
He got arrested and asked some friends to clear it for him

Can you link to the article or quote it I can't see it. Thanks.

If the 'biological evidence' is the DNA sample from the bed sheets, it has been reported in many reports but seems to be speculation. German police have not confirmed anything to place him at the scene...they would have charged him if there was.

Just a theory - But could the other person he called that night be an accomplice (discussed earlier) who drove a vehicle that night just to whip MM away quickly?
I'm not thinking traficking here - but someone who drove her off to a hiding place - another unsavoury friend?

My opinion only
He was being protected in Portugal so no need to leave. Maybe so well planned the cops had already been paid off

So, why didn’t the PJ ask for his records from Germany? Too busy with 600 potential suspects? And why did they turn down the offer of help from the British?

From that source the PJ are saying no-one gave them the records

It's an anonymous source so could be inaccurate. They are saying he only had a record for stealing diesel in Portugal at that time. To get records from other countries you would need a warrant or good suspicion I would imagine to get the records sent.

Scotland Yard didn't flag him up as a suspect either.

"
“Nearly all the Portuguese nationals and foreigners living on the Algarve with sex offence convictions were questioned at the time,” a police source told Expresso, a Portuguese daily newspaper.

“That case of sexual abuse of a minor did not cross the German borders and that meant the we didn't know about it.

“The German was known to police in Portugal, but for petty crimes he'd been convicted of which didn't raise any alarm bells in May 2007.”

Officials in Britain, Portugal and Germany have all been accused of mishandling the case and not sharing intelligence with each other.

Brückner’s name was one of 600 handed over to the Metropolitan Police in 2011 when they opened Operation Grange to review the Madeleine case, but they did not identify him as a suspect until 2017.''

Yes, I was reading an article yesterday and they mentioned her surname - I'll have a search.....

I doubt whether they are just looking at that one particular phone call - this will be a call among others made/accepted from his phone - They're just trying to piece together his movements and who he spoke to and where he went, days before/after MM went missing,by means of call tracking, over a certain period. IMO
Yes, but that's recent. I was querying the posts I quoted, which suggested that the phone call should have immediately marked him out as a suspect at the time.
