@Owlpellet We know he sold the van with a Portuguese plate in 2015 to a German living in Algarve and that van has been confiscated by police later.

I can't believe he sold it for 5.500€ and had the roof sawed before. If that's true about swimming pool, he might had just disassembled roof and joked with ex telling her he sawed it.

seems odd to me that MN has no crimes after the last one mentioned on wiki - 2005 in Germany. wonder why MN ended up in portugal in 2007?

two tall germans. both with an interest in children. together, would have been a very scary prospect.

some people commenting that it is a coincidence that CB was in the vicinity on 3 may 2007. it would be a huge coincidence if both CB + MN were in the vicinity.

That's a good question I'd like to answer. If it has a D, then it must have had a German plate at some time. They say it had a Portuguese plate when sold. So he could have exchanged it. I'm not sure they must remove D after exchanging plate (I guess so). The pictures aren't dated, and that doesn't help.

BTW, if van belongs to CB, is believed to be of vital forensic importance and is confiscated by police for investigation, why do they insist concealing plate?

This was from 2009, if you haven't gone back that far on this case, this guy is so similar to CB, his record, driving a camper van, knowing the area, talking about the case. He was looked into by SY but nothing came from it and he died in 2010 aged 64.

Yes, but the strange thing is that various sources report that the person that called him was NOT in the area. So that means that it could not have been a resort employee that tipped him off. That phone received a call, starting at 7.32pm and finishing at 8.02pm, on May 3 2007 in the area of Praia da Luz from a second mobile number (+351 916 510 683) from a person not in the area.

That's a good question I'd like to answer. If it has a D, then it must have had a German plate at some time. They say it had a Portuguese plate when sold. So he could have exchanged it. maybe the german plate number is now registered to, and being used by, an innocent person.

but i wonder why a van registered with a german plate, needs to have its plates changed, to portuguese plates? is there an innocent explanation...
would be interesting if CB was the one that was buying vehicles, and then changing or swapping plate numbers...
