Thanks yes. I see it now. I think I'm suffering information overload!

My theory was/is that he's courting the press in order to get as much information. But I did consider that surely he would have consulted in private with the family and their lawyer as to what he was going to say.I know as if to say it was 13 years ago deal with it. I don’t know why HCW continues to feed the media with half stories, that’s the issue here really. Give them an inch and the papers will take a mile. It’s upsetting for us and we aren’t her parents. I’ve lost a few hours sleep thinking about the apparent chat room conversation alone...
Yeah I thought the same thing when I heard they’d send a letter in the first place. There’s been no sort of compassion or empathy from the Germans so far I feel tbh. It’s quite a disparity from the met, who are keeping as tight lipped as possible to not upset the McCanns any more than necessary at this point. The amount of interviews HCW is dishing out left right and centre. It’s all a bit odd. Maybe it’s a cultural thing. I dunno.
.. except today MM's parents are saying they are not actively paying any lawyer. Does that mean they've sacked Alves?Which I thought was going to be the course of action. Their lawyer goes to Germany and comes back and informs the McCanns of any updates. I was feeling sympathy for all concerned in that meeting.

But then their title is peculiar to say the least: The letter is not real.Or, the way I read it, there is a letter .... but it does not say that there is evidence or proof that Madeleine is dead.
As the McCann's spokesperson has said there is a letter, I think that there is one.
I can imagine that the police have extended the courtesy to Madeleine's parents of telling them about Bruckner before they had their press conference.
This is just a 'crude' example of his psychopathology from profilers, which I do believe is correct. ie- He fits that criminal profile.
I'm not in any way defending him, but he could have other co-existing, undiagnosed psychiatric disorders, or he could claim to have them!
We cannot understand people from merely a label - psychological evaluation is very nuanced and I'm sure his will be evaluated by a psychiatrist in good time.
But then their title is peculiar to say the least: The letter is not real.
And what's more: the Mccanns deny having a spokesperson!
I would imagine that it's a 'cocktail' of all kinds of mental health/enviromental/stimulant-addictive issues that are going on - not defending him. It seems like he was able to fool people and even hold down however brief, some kind of relationship a well. This is just a 'crude' example of his psychopathology from profilers, which I do believe is correct. ie- He fits that criminal profile.

Do you have any links to that? Just curious. He has been evaluated, that's why there is an expertise. Not saying they won't evaluate him even more, I don't know, but it comes from an expertise and is not just the opinion of just anybody.

Yes, very peculiar. I am 99% sure it said in the Mail's article yesterday that Mitchell had confirmed they had received a letter but it's now been changed to just say Mitchell said the McCanns wont comment of private correspondence.
this for me is how the german prosecutor should play it. why should he release any details, to anyone if it jeopardises his case....
Wolters has confirmed that he sent a letter to Gerry and Kate McCann explaining that they have evidence for a murder investigation, but was unable to give any details on the evidence that they have during the ongoing case.
He told the Daily Mail: "I sympathise with the parents but if we reveal more details to them it might jeopardise the investigation. We have concrete evidence that our suspect has killed Madeleine and this means she is dead. We of course really consider the fact that it is going to be very hard for the family when we tell them... But we can’t say why she is dead – it is more important that we are successful and we are able to get the culprit as opposed to just putting our cards on the table and telling them why we think she might be."
"Clarence Mitchell, the McCann family spokesman, told The Sun that the letter had been sent but added: “Kate and Gerry simply do not comment on private correspondence received from police and nor will they be giving a running commentary."
Madeleine McCann's parents 'sent letter by police confirming she is dead'
Thanks. Knew I read it somewhere, still pretty sure they quoted that in the Mail too originally."Clarence Mitchell, the McCann family spokesman, told The Sun that the letter had been sent but added: “Kate and Gerry simply do not comment on private correspondence received from police and nor will they be giving a running commentary."

This item by The Independent is strange. What do they mean with: Hans Christian Wolters confirmed he sent the letter to Kate and Gerry McCann but said he was unable to explain why his officers had come to that conclusion. ??"Clarence Mitchell, the McCann family spokesman, told The Sun that the letter had been sent but added: “Kate and Gerry simply do not comment on private correspondence received from police and nor will they be giving a running commentary."

Believe the meaning was that they have a very strong belief that she was murdered but are not able/willing to divulge what particular evidence has led them to that conclusion. This item by The Independent is strange. Bad translation of some sort??
