So do we read from this that the Portugese authorities know the new evidence but the Met do not? Or is it just that the McCanns don't know?

It sounds like the German police have showed the PJ this particular piece of ‘evidence’ Which the PJ are now describing it as “significant and very interesting.” They now seem to be arranging digging of the wells near his old property. So whatever it is, it seems legit.
I am really trying to think what it could be? Surely more than just a confession they’ve heard he’s told a friend. It must be something a bit more concrete than that surely?

It leads back to the question of whether he did it - planned it - or whether it was spur of the moment?

If it was spur of the moment - what vehicle would he have logically used after he burgled hotel rooms?
Maybe he wasn't employed - legally anyway, as a car mechanic at the time. Would he have had access to other vehicles?
Could there be someting in that grey area which links to back to AB and the re-registering of the Jag.
Had he no need to use it and found another car? IMO

I can't recollect any details about the apartment having been rummaged through as a burglar surely would - maybe as soon as he saw MM in the room other unnatural, impulsive, uncontrollable, urges came over him? So not planned abduction in that effect.

I Don’t know where the mets stance on this is though. They are keeping rather quiet. I think they are conscious of kate and Gerry and are wanting to keep it respectful until more concrete evidence is discovered or her body is found. IMO

CB knew/said something only the abductor could know. So, something not in the public domain, but more importantly how do LE know it is true then?

As suggested earlier, this could be something about Madeleine herself: a scar, birthmark or something similar that has never been publicly mentioned, but the family would know about.

I think "enactment" in that case means judicial rather than re - enacting surely?

I wish LE from the three countries would do some kind of joint online briefing from their respective countries to show they are all working tightly together. People accept that bad things happen when they shouldn’t, the terrifying bit for observers is when LE seems to be a shambles. Portugal looks so beautiful from the Netflix documentary; when you don’t know a place it is so easy to get a distorted view.

I think it was difficult to establish exactly what happened in the room as there were that many people walking in and out afterwards. imo

I think it means that there is a judicial requirement that the suspect be present when the police reconstruct the night that Madeleine disappeared.

If the 'evidence' they're talking about is video/ photograph of MM I can't imagine, as a parent, bringing myself to look at it (for identifying?). But then again, one would have to know what happened. Difficult one.

I’m surprised the PJ have only just decided to search the wells around his home, considering he’s been a suspect since 2017? Im sure they didn’t find out he was a suspect only a week ago like the rest of us did.

although, I really doubt he would dump her body so close to his own home. But who knows. He doesn’t strike me as some kind of criminal mastermind to me but he does seem to plan his crimes to a Tee. The rape was very planned and methodical the victim said, the Irish girl said the same (assuming it was actually CB) so I’d imagine he’d come up with a better hiding place than a well in his own front garden.

Surely not the child care home? OR an un named property that someone has told them he lived in.

Yes, he had left that property in 2006 - perhaps it was still empty in May 2007.
Close to home is prob better than driving for miles with a body and he knew the local landscape very well. I've read there's hundreds of disused wells around PDL

I would have thought so too. Maybe if he had left Portugal after, but he went on to Foral.
Did they ever give a date as to when he went to Foral?
