Personally, I have doubts about this sighting being of MM. If the abduction involved an accomplice, it means there would be an element of planning behind it. I don't see it as a very good plan to walk that distance from the crime scene holding a kidnapped child. From what is a quiet area into a busy one.

If he was dressed as a woman as discussed further up by the side by side comparison photos then a) we know he had a selection of wigs and b) do we assume this is to use a fake passport so to not be caught travelling on the ferry or booking the ferry under his own name? JMO

If that was the tactic, why be open about the other things they "don't have"? CB didn't know LE don't have any foresnsics, or that he can just say someone else had his phone because they have nothing else concrete to place him in PDL.

I can't see why anyone would be likely to come forward on the basis that LE might (but might not) have a video. Why would they based on that?

He probably DID know they have no forensics, because if they did, LE wouldn't wait to charge him. The media would have been straight to, forensics found in MM case... not LE need help with XYZ

Personally I don't think it's the same risk. One thing is stealing apartments where at most he'll be seen at a distance. The other is being in a port full of people and policemen. Are his disguises that good? Further, if there's any suspicion his plate can easily been recorded.

One of the unfortunate aspects of the German legal process is there is no incentive for a suspect to own up to the crime or talk about anything. There is no Guilty/not Guilt plea in court either. Unlike in most other countries, you don't get any sort of reduced sentence for owning up to the crime. The Prosecutor simply lays out the evidence to the Judge and the Defence contend any points if they wish to. The Judge alone then decides if they believe they are guilty or not and sentencing is passed down.

That almost seems like a more efficient system. Is it quicker in process than say in North America?

He has mentioned in the past he had been drinking though and wasn’t wearing his glasses at the time. also it was 13 years ago now too and I believe smith is in his 80’s now, I’m not sure we can fully rely on him to be accurate about a man he briefly saw in a dimly lit street over a decade ago, at the time this man was of no importance so he wouldnt of took a great amount of notice in the first place I’d of thought. IMO

Wasn’t it the smith family that did these 2 efits? To me these men don’t really look alike at all. yet they were both done by different members of the smith family of the same man they saw at the same time. I think memory is a funny thing really. It’s not always accurate 13 hours later never mind 13 years. IMO of course.

Didnt martin smith later changed his mind completely and was adamant it was Gerry McCann he saw? neither of those efits look remotely like Gerry McCann either.

I have no idea how much money is involved in selling snuff films. Obviously it would be in bitcoin, so I'm not sure how it transfers over into the real world (or how easy it is to trace for the authorities). Hopefully somebody here is knowledgeable in that area.

That's how I was thinking, how could he say it wasn't CB, but then say it was GM, I thought they may of been drinking, as they had come from a bar , but I didn't want to claim Smith man was drunk, none of the family could give accurate description, so that's that really

Yes he said he was like 70% sure or something like that it was GM. Who looks nothing like CB, facially or in stature. And I agree, the efits don't look much like GM, but to me they look even less like CB.

In my opinion, the person wasn't CB and the girl being carried by him wasn't MM either.
