According to a Spiegel report I think (not sure, so no link sorry) a friend of his told he commented before 2003 appointment "I did a call in PDL so I must have abducted her! They can't cathch me!".

Hmm. Not sure that's the comment he said. I assume you mean 2013 not 2003. The comment I heard he made to a friend when complaining about the summons letter was along the lines of "just because I was in Portugal, I must have abducted her".

On a random thought: is the farmhouse with the yellow around the windows, the same yellow as the skirting on the Westfalia. I read that two tone Westfalia vans are rare, so who painted the yellow? Also wondering if the mustard car he was supposed to own was the same colour/paint? Thought it may help with dates. But I am guessing it is unprove-able and unlikely.

Of course you're right it's 2013 (lapsus digitalis). Maybe you're also right about the rest. If I find anything in contrary I'll let you know.

ETA: But I'm almost sure, I recall precisely that I even thought "if we could know what he told police about that call" (but memory is tricky sometimes).

The police search at the box factory is in 2016. The investigation into Inga's case was already closed. They look in the box factory because the neighbors report accumulation of garbage and odors (I read more horrible details in a German forum, which I will not reproduce because I have no links). The police find child in the factory and a dark van. They are looking for a CB department too.

Everything is in the following link that also says that he was not present during the searches.

Different “sounding” perhaps, but they’re two forms of the same name, Diego.

Just want to throw an idea out there, so bear with me... I have contacts on my phone that have their reasons for wanting to stay out of the sight of the police (nothing too dodge, they’re just horticulturalists ) ... First thing they tell you to do is save their number under a different name. If you don’t know them so well, you might give them a similar sounding name to their own so you remember...
If you look at my current contact list, you’ll see a number for a “Nathan West”. I don’t know any Nathan Wests, but for a long while I could never remember my online banking details, and I bank with Nationwide... See where I’m going with this?
Also, him breaking down in tears during questioning and then admitting he lost the keys? I was a teenage girl once, I know that game. You cry and admit to a lesser crime so it makes your denial to the first more believable.

Anyway, I’m sure the German’s have thought of all that and have been through these files with a fine toothed comb.

Yes in 2013. I believe someone suggested his name to the XY crime watch-type programme in Germany but gave no further details. He was called in to answer a few questions, presumably about his whereabouts around the date of MM but it appears nothing came of it. I think CB was still confident at this point the police were not onto him and it was just a formality they were following up on the anonymous tip to the programme.

I do wonder if he gave an alibi in this 2013 questionning that was corroborated at the time but that the police now know to be false. The discovery of the hidden USB devices in 2016 though may have really caused him panic if there was something of MM on them.

i think he was running from the German jail time, that was handed out in early 2016.

maybe he was found guilty on this june date, and he appealed. or appealed both offences and then ran. as the Austrian guy OS says to Sandra F, the algarve is a great place to run to. and hide.

Unfortunately he wasn't questioned about keys but by a journalist who didn't even bother confirm with senior staff nor pass this info to police.

I suspect CB asked him to. CB didn't want to reveal the farmhouse due to all the incriminating evidence there. LE didn't want to grant him bail as they deemed him a flight risk due to him apparently having no fixed abode. I reckon he asked BP to vouch for him effectively and I also suspect BP is more than aware and perhaps complicit in CB's criminal activities. In the latest Sexta9 video, the couple at villa bianca said BP made excuses/tried to normalise the fact that CB had stolen a car to get there.

Hard to tell, but given CB and BP were intimate friends how couldn't he know he had somewhere to live in Algarve?

Anyway he didn't risk tell the court CB had no address in Algarve, only that he could offer him residence.

So during the diesel theft Court Case CB admitted to the Judge that he was a convicted paedo. Would BP have known these details having offered CB a place to reside? Maybe that bit came out after he'd offered.
Wish we could see the Court documents.
It's all rather murky imo.

Here's a photo from March 2019 depicting the clifftop location of the X marks. They don't actually seem to be there on the ground, so maybe the X marks were actually drawn onto the 2018 satellite photo itself, for some reason?

It may seem far fetched to some but I happen to think it could be very plausible that NM knew CB when MM went missing and was potentially groomed by him from a young age. I am not stating this as a fact but my opinion only.

If he wanted to keep MM for a few days he might have wanted a female to take care of her for him to help keep her quiet? Just a theory, could this be a possibility?
