The Smith County Sheriff's Office was contacted Sunday morning around 10 a.m. regarding a missing child.

The child has been identified as 3-year-old Madison Williams.

When deputies arrived, they made contact with the mother and learned she had possibly been missing since 7 a.m.

Smith County deputies immediately began a search of the area of County Road 210 in Chapel Hill and called for additional resources.

The search of the area is still on going with Smith County Investigators, Texas Game Warden, DPS, Texas Rangers, DPS Investigators, DPS Aviation, Chapel Hill Volunteer Fire Department, ESD 2 and the FBI.

Investigators are doing a door to door check of residence in the area and are questioning family and neighbors.

A Texas Parks and Wildlife scent detecting K-9 is headed to the scene and will be there as needed.

Three-year-old Madison Williams has been missing from her home in the 6400 block of County Road 210 in the Chapel Hill area since 7 a.m. on Sunday, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Deputies began a search of the area and called in assistance from local law enforcement agencies. A drone was deployed without a positive result and deputies went door to door in the area.

Anyone with information that could help in locating Madison should call the sheriff's office at 903-566-6600.

The sheriff’s office also said drones were deployed early on without positive results. Additional off-duty personal were also activated.

The child has been identified as Madison Williams, 3-years-old. There is no indication of foul play, according to Larry Smith, Smith County Sherriff’s Office.

She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black or blue shorts.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved including the Smith County Investigators, Texas Game Warden, DPS, Texas Rangers, ESD 2, and the FBI.

Officials are canvassing the area around CR 210 between CR 850 and HWY 64, including a door to door search.

According to Smith County Sheriff’s Office, the child went missing in the Chapel Hill area. They are currently searching the 6400 block of County Road 210.
CBS19 has crews headed to the scene and will continue to update the story as new information becomes available.

Update: A young girl who had been missing since 7 a.m. on Sunday was found dead, according to a spokesperson for the Smith County Sheriff's Office.

Search parties located the girl in a pond behind the property just after 4 p.m., she was pronounced dead by Smith County Justice of the Peace Judge James Meredith.

Smith County officials have reported that the missing child was located at 3:30 p.m. Sunday by a dive team in a nearby pond.

The child was identified as Madison Williams, 3-years-old. Details found at the pond indicated no foul play, according to Larry Smith, Smith County Sherriff’s Office.

However, the investigation is still open.

Madison was known to walk across the pasture to her grandparent’s house and follow the family dog around.
