Casey also said she received calls from the babysitter on her now missing cell phones on July 15th. So, I'd say no. Her phone wasn't lost until she needed it to be in July, and records show she was using it until early July when it was turned off for non-payment.

Wouldn't a defense for the cell phone evidence be that the phone was there but Casey wasn't?

Not if the phone records can indicate calls to her parents surrounding that time frame that no other person would have had reason to make.
