Families still across the street. Many seeing their relatives with LE, only way they know they are safe.

I missed most of the press conference, but did hear a report that he put the gun to the head of some of the hostages.

ETA: One mother is being interviewed after she talked with her daughter who worked in the bank. She reports her daughter is extremely upset and stressed; she told her mom the gunman chased her.

woah just seeing this!!!! I'm so glad the hostages are safe!
People are crazy these days trying to rob banks! They aren't going to get away with it.Technology is too advanced and everyone has phones and such. I'm shocked no one had a gun on them inside!
This is the exact reason I use the drive through at the bank too. I only go inside if I absolutely HAVE to!
I hope the bigger man is ok. I'm wondering if he broke something? Didn't y'all say he fell? Maybe that's why he was rolling around too. Might have been in terrible pain?

Sheriff Mike Williams said SWAT negotiators had determined they would need to force entry at some point because the suspect was agitated, threatening to kill the hostages and putting a gun to their heads. Then the opportunity presented itself when two people who were hiding in the bank, unknown to the suspect, and made a break to escape. It distracted the gunman enough for SWAT members to make entry and capture the suspect.

[...]
“We also did get a report that someone had been shot. But it is unconfirmed.”

The Sheriff’s Office later determined no one had been wounded.

LE released wrong name of suspect! I am pleased to hear that since the named suspect was an 18 year old (per SM).

The originalsuspect name was an 18 year old hostage who worked at the bank. @ActionNewsJax

Oh, dear! That's awful! Media need to make sure they get info correct before getting it out there. Poor guy (bank employee) has been through enough.

ETA: Oops! Just realized it was LE who got it wrong. Yes, they need to be sure to get the info correct, but media needs to hold off a bit to insure info is correct because sometimes LE gets it wrong!

This is worse than a media mess up--LE named him in the press conference.

A 23-year-old gunman came into the Community First Credit Union in Northwest Jacksonville shortly after it opened Thursday morning with a dog, dog food and a gun and took 13 hostages, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
A witness told News4Jax that the man fired a shot in the air while he was at a desk with a bank employee. Police said the gunman, later identified as Nicholas Humphrey, put a gun to the heads of the hostages and threatened to kill them.

Number of reported hostages increased to 13.

Not sure I could return to work if that had happened to me.

Wonder if he was homeless - what is up with the dog?? He def had to have some "issues" - a voice telling him to bring his dog??

Bringing your dog along for a robbery clearly i indicates some sort of thinking problems - it is so bizarre.

Wonder if he had some contact in the past with mental health services?
