Missing Malaysia Jet: Could Sabotage or Hijack Be to Blame?
http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/mi...-jet-could-sabotage-or-hijack-be-blame-n50241

"We are looking into four areas: one is hijacking; two, sabotage; three, psychological problem of the passengers and crew; and four, personal problem among passengers and crew,” Malaysian police chief Khalid Abu Bakar told reporters in Kuala Lumpur Tuesday.

"Maybe somebody on the flight has bought a huge sum of insurance, who wants family to gain from it or somebody who has owed somebody so much money, you know, we are looking at all possibilities," Bakar said. "We are looking very closely at the video footage taken at the [airport and] we are studying the behavioral pattern of all the passengers."

Jack Gilbert Graham bombed a life insurance policy on his mother, Daisie King. He bombed United Airlines Flight 629.

Could an unstable passenger bring down a flight? Air rage is a known problem, and last month a serial arsonist was suspected of repeatedly setting fires aboard a Boeing 777 heading from Australia to the Middle East. A number of passengers were questioned but no culprit was identified.

Perhaps air rage gone really bad.

More maps:

ORIGINAL FLIGHT PLAN:

FLIGHT PATH (1ST HOUR):

The plane flew a little past Kuala Terengganu, but the map wouldn't plot a path into the ocean. Marang is the circled region where 8 villagers reported hearing a loud noise at the time the flight was in the region. The noise they heard was described as being from the vicinity of Pulau Kapas (red marker)--which would be directionally correct if it the noise originated from the plane.

Incidentally, there are two other airports on this eastern coast--one is the Sultan Mahmud Airport just directly above Kuala Terengganu on the map. Another airport is just north of that one.

Will anyone follow up on the eye witness reports? It wouldn't surprise me to know that there are far more eye witness reports that are ignored by the navy search teams who are relying instead on their techno gadgetry. Who knows what kind of military/diplomatic mess is going on between the navy vessels of these countries that are looking for the plane.

This is another thing I am a bit astonished about.......why have we not heard a bit more about this by the govt....

I read this, this morning and posted it.....

Its not one group of villagers that were all together......I think there were 8 that went to the police though....7 were sitting together and there was another separate villager that went to the police as well..... no doubt other villagers heard the same thing.

Is there jungle around that area? am wondering if they are busy searching in the sea and it is in the jungle..................but then yes we have the question of the black box? it sends out some form of signal doesn't it?

If you mean that perhaps there is a chance that Norad saw something? If so: in Bloomberg news it was reported that Norad did not pick up any explosions or missile launches on their infrared and visual imagery, in regards of Flight 370.

As for the whole Santa aspect… I still believe, so I will not tell you that Norad fakes Santa coming into and out of various airspaces. ;)

:seeya:

Thank you. Yes, it was kind of serious, joking question. :floorlaugh:

Dumb question- I've read the water is very shallow in many places. I keep thinking back to the ValuJet crash where the plane literally smashed to so many pieces in the Everglades because under the water was a huge plate of limestone. Is it possible something similar happened here? I remember they recovered so little of that plane and it's passengers.

The Value Jet crash was in the Everglades - which is like 2 feet of water and then like 8 feet of "mush" think quicksand!

I wonder if it is possible that MH370 crashed into the jungle of Malaysia and could be in plain sight, but no one is searching as they are focused on the Gulf of Thailand and Malacca Strait. Perhaps it could of crashed into Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Well, they say they're searching land as well (and the land mass is included on [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10323723&postcount=43"]the search maps[/ame]), but you're right--there's been a far greater emphasis on ocean searches.

I don't recall seeing any mention anywhere of any communications that atc DID have with the pilots Before they lost contact. there had to have been at least some... was there any clue at all that anything was amiss prior to losing contact or did the communications all seem just perfectly normal and routine?

"If the plane was indeed on autopilot, it would also corroborate the latest evidence that it was last seen in the vicinity of Pulau Perak on the west coast before disappearing. The plane had enough fuel to continue flying on autopilot deep into the Indian Ocean."

I am going to try not to stay on this thread until the wee hours of the morning again... :o

But here's my latest and more refined theory: it was hijacked (by who, I don't know - pilot? other crew? passenger(s)?). They disabled the transponder and radio, dropped altitude a little, and headed towards the Middle East.

Whether they made it or not - who knows?

Also, correction on that second map above. The original flight plan has the plane originally flying past Kota Bharu, which is a city a bit north of Kuala Terengganu.

ETA: though on ElleElle's map, I see the flight plan also has the plane going past Kuala Terengganu. So, maybe correct after all.

Hi all- just joining because this case is fascinating me. I just don't get what is going on at all with this plane just vanishing. All of the contradictory statements- something does not add up. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Nope, don't have to. You will eventually end up in jail, but you don't HAVE to pay them.

Lol! Well, ok, technically no. ;)

Can a 777 slowly decompress without alarms going off?

All this backtracking by the government involved... really makes me wonder if something bad didn't happen- and they don't have their story together on how to cover it.

Just wanted to jump back in to say thank you to HMSHood for not dismissing my question and responding like a gentleman/woman. I appreciate your taking the time to respond and not calling me out as a tech noob :)
