Can a 777 slowly decompress without alarms going off?

Even if it could it doesnt explain the radar signals .

Is it possible they do not know with radar signals belong to the plane at certain points?

Say if something jammed the transponders in the area?

"
If MH370 did indeed have a cracking or corrosion on the top of its fuselage when it took off at 1240am, it would have been almost impossible to detect by the crew or the pilots. Depending on the level of corrosion, there would have been a gradual depressurization of of the cabin pressure as oxygen was sucked out of the aircraft. The gradual decompression would have not been noticed by the crew as pressure changes would have been at an acceptable level as the plane climbed to 35,000 ft. The slow drop in oxygen saturation as the plane climbed, as well as the effects of the lack of oxygen might have been brushed off by the pilots until it was too late. This lack of oxygen saturation would have already slightly disoriented the pilots, and as the plane climbed to 35,000ft, it is very possible that the cracks on the SATCOM antenna array might have snapped open and caused an explosive rapid decompression in the cabin pressure."

Don't know about alarms, but I'd think the oxygen masks would tumble down and at least some of those 239 people would've attached them in a slow situation.

Man this is like a rollar coaster

. ANother huge angle IMO that has not gotten any play is:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/missing-malaysia-airlines-flight-who-3222758

Found out last night about this terrorist group that 8-9 days ago (roughly) went into rail stations and butchered 29 to death
.
Well, guess what folks. This group has huge isssues with Malaysia!

One Malaysian official told Reuters the authorities were not ruling out involvement of Uighur Muslim militants in the jet's disappearance, noting that Uighurs were deported to China from Malaysia in 2011 and 2012 for carrying false passports

ding ding ding ding!! and alarm goes off!

New topic !......Was thrilled when I heard about the military radar - everything seemed to be lining up. Like all the rest of this that peace of mind lasted 42 minutes before they start denying that angle.

Then I am thinking oh come - what a bunch of fools they think all of us are.

Us, Japan, China Russia etc want everyone to believe that there is just no real tracking of a 300 ton item. NSA knows I just burped - pls!!

ANother thing , I have been with you all on several other stories. I am sure this has happened to all of us here! Like, you think something , think you will post it , and then say to yourself oh that is silly (other cases!)

On this one anything goes! Do not ask me (I am a visual person) where this came from but....

thought........what if they had gas masks, knocked everyone out, broke down cockpit door , flew the plane to hanger, (hey folks be kind!) are repainting it , - they cost 250 million each. Sell it - and ya got a big bank account to fund all sorts of terrorist stuff.

Switch of gears ...........Then I do not understand how , today , all this we are ruling out terrorists casue of the passport kids. Obviously they had real passports - there is no reason for them to begin using stolen ones unless they are up to no good! So why all of a sudden do they rule out terrorists?

so that line of logic well, makes none!

I wonder if passport kids have taken flying lessons - hey sorry its a fast little mind!!

Will anyone follow up on the eye witness reports? It wouldn't surprise me to know that there are far more eye witness reports that are ignored by the navy search teams who are relying instead on their techno gadgetry. Who knows what kind of military/diplomatic mess is going on between the navy vessels of these countries that are looking for the plane.

:seeya: Forgive me for jumping in unannounced, please, but wasn't it reported that the 8 witnesses heard a loud bang at 1:30? I can't seem to find the orignal post. If the plane was being tracked in the air until 2:40, how could those witness reports be credible?

If we're not talking about the same witnesses just ignore me...I'm often confused.

But now the military is saying they didn't track it. :banghead:

I believe oxygen masks don't deploy until a certain altitude. Maybe at 10,000 feet?

Just wanted to jump back in to say thank you to HMSHood for not dismissing my question and responding like a gentleman/woman. I appreciate your taking the time to respond and not calling me out as a tech noob :)

On the topic of technology, I have read that hard drives have been recovered in the worst circumstances like prolonged submerging in water or fire. Of course, it will cost you an arm and leg to have that data recovered, but that is another topic on its own.

Would a fire affect the transponders? I know it would affect the electrical system. Could that be why the transponders were not working as well?

BBM~ They used stolen passports because you can an entry visa into Malaysia if you are Austrian/Italian and not Iran. My ex was Iranian and traveling with him was a nightmare until he got a Canadian passport.

My concern with this is, this needs to be stopped because people are running around the world with random ID.
