Passenger seats can also be used for flotation.

I'd pay a lot more attention to the body found if it were wearing an airline seat vs life jacket.

IMO there will be a connection to the rail station assualt either hijacking or bomb sorry posted about this terrorist group last night

http://www.scmp.com/news/asia/artic...st-attack-china-received-taiwan-days-malaysia

Check these folks out "Kunming Railway Station"

Quickly receipe:

Issues with Malaysia
Connections to China
Whole deal connected to forged passports
Attack was like a week before flight vanished
Clearly this particular group is pretty pissed off the last two weeks to go in a stab , at random. 29 people to dealth and mess up 130 more

Obviously they have some issues this month!

The spokeswoman said the notice was issued in the wake of the March 1 Kunming railway station attacks. The notice urged all of its staff on the mainland to "be aware of individual security".

However, security chiefs were believed to have received the alert from Taiwan-based China Airlines, following a phone call to the airline earlier in the day from a man who said he wanted to warn of possible terrorist activity.

In a statement, the airline said: "China Airlines on March 4 received a call claiming to provide intelligence on terrorist organisations and which referred to mainland China, saying Beijing airport would see terrorist attacks."

Vietnam's largest island is known mostly for its tranquil beaches, fishing villages and pearl farms.

But since media reported that wreckage from missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 might have been spied off the Vietnamese coast, Phu Quoc Island has been turned into an international crisis zone.

About 70 journalists from the world over - especially Malaysia, Cambodia, and China - have descended on the island.

Mostly they wait, camping outside the airport until someone passes by wearing a military uniform. Then they give chase for an interview.

Near daily sightings of suspected plane wreckage have turned out to be nothing.

An oil slick spotted on Saturday by the Vietnamese air force was thought to be remnants from the burst tanks of the missing Malaysian airliner. But test results showed that the slick was bunker oil.

Hong Kong's Civil Aviation Department said that it had received a report from Cathay Pacific that a flight from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur had spotted possible debris in Vung Tau province, the southern part of Vietnam. Planes were sent to scour the area, finding nothing.

On Tuesday, reports suggested that possible plane wreckage had been spotted 80 kilometres off of Tho Chu Island, near Phu Quoc Island. Again, the deputy transport minister, Pham Quy Tieu, said rescue teams had been sent and nothing found.

To deal with all the questions, the Vietnamese government transformed part of the island's air-traffic-control centre into a command post, where officials offer two press briefings daily.

on a side note, I googled Phu Quoc Island, the island looks idyllic!!

I did not know that part that is very interesting --translates to who ever was at the controls knew they had better , if they are switching direction b change or have a solid head on collision which would wreck their plans no?

and then ...................... does this not take us backl to hijacking ?????????

He posted all theories but made a case for decompression. He was noting that even with the effects of hypoxia and not thinking clearly, the pilot seemed to be trying to follow protocol.

Not sure how antiquated it is, but according to what I've read this week in pilot forums, apparently radar doesn't track planes very far after they travel beyond land and are over ocean. Pilots use radio transmission signals instead to communicate with other planes and with air traffic control towers about their positions.

I bet drug smugglers have more accurate radar systems than this...

Maybe they should enlist the help of drug smugglers...

This is from a FB page set up by Tomnod users:

CNN is reporting that a source close to the Rolls Royce company "maker of the airline engines of the Malaysia flight" is stating that Rolls has "big" information. The company has this info because apparently they remotely monitor the status of all their engines in major aircraft. Rolls Royce has not responded to inquiries by the media. Hopefully some information will be coming soon.

Thursday, March 13, 12:45 AM MYT +0800 Malaysia Airlines MH370 Flight Incident - 16th Media Statement

Malaysia Airlines wishes to clarify the claims that some families of the passengers were flown to India instead of Malaysia. This is not true.

Malaysia Airlines flies directly from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur without a transit. There is also no Malaysia Airlines direct flights from Hong Kong to Mumbai or any part of India.

You live in a beautiful state. :)

I haven't read up on all those, but just from Twitter it seems the NY incident was a gas explosion, the CA 5-alarm fire from last night was an apt building under construction (makes me wonder about arson or vagrants), and probably neither are connected to this missing plane. But maybe I'm just being optimistic.
I agree I think there is no connection some gas blew up and there was a big fire on the west coast. Obviuoly this is about MUCH more god knows what but much bigger just imo

‘I’m Safe’: Last Status Update of Teenager on Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight

Pouria Nourmohammadi, a 19-year-old Iranian aboard Flight MH370 with a stolen passport who was planning to reach Germany, wrote "I'm Safe" on Facebook hours before the plane vanished over the weekend

The last status update Pouria Nourmohammadi posted on his Facebook page indicated he was “feeling excited.” The 19-year-old Iranian had good reason to be: he was embarking on the first leg of a flight that would ultimately take him to Germany where his mother was waiting to help him begin a new life.

Sounds like not only the public but other countries are getting fed up with how this is being handled. I wouldn't doubt that is why Vietnam is pulling out of the search.

That's not so strange. I'd believe that before I'd believe it's covered in tarp in some jungle.

I heard a retired pilot on the radio mention yesterday that if the plane had gone into water that there is a specific transponder (?) for that and it would have gone off.. sending a signal.

This is just so crazy.
