They may have no choice if it crashed on Russian soil. JMO
Well, you would think that since Russia is being blamed for shooting it down, they would let some other entity in to do a parallel investigation.

The more I hear about this the more I think it was shot down by Russian separatists by accident. I think they misidentified it as a Ukrainian military plane. JMO

IMO, there is no way Russia allows anyone in to investigate it separately. I have a feeling that in a few days it will be announced by Russia that a fuel tank exploded or something like that. JMO

Wouldn't Malaysia demand the Russians turn over the black box? Even if Russia claims they did not shoot down the aircraft there would still be too much doubt in Malaysia's mind that Russia can not be counted out as responsible. jmo

wtf. I'm monitoring the flight path site, and now two Russian planes are set to be flying over Ukraine. Is Russian trying to provoke another attack? One of the planes is going to sochi, and another to Beirut AFB

It might be a "Come and get it Malaysia. OOps!! we lost it. Sorry." JMO

IDK Fran it's getting confusing to me. It's in a region of Ukraine, about 20 miles from the Russian border. I looked on google maps. But IIRC russian separatists are in control of that area, and the plane. So I don't know what is going to happen.

I kind of think the black box is moot point. What can it tell? Certainly not who shot it down. :waitasec:

ABC news is talking about how The United States will be able to pinpoint where a missile came from based on our satellites.

But it would record if anything suspicious happened in the cockpit.
Maybe it was hijacked? There could be voices in the cockpit that don't belong to either pilot.

Mods, can we add 'and MH17' to the thread title, as they are two completely separate planes?

But it's a Malaysian plane.
Shouldn't the authorities there be in charge of examining the black box?
