Oh yeah, I read they arrived in the morning and I remember reading that the resort didn't want check ins until 2pm. Now this person says they arrived later in the evening, but maybe they just didn't see them until then.

Yes, more like 'arrived at the pool' or 'arrived at a communal area'

Looking at the photos of sora house again. The main door to the house is right at the very back of the left hand side (if you were looking in from patio area), so I think in the kitchen area to the far side of the spiral staircase? The toilet is also near the bottom of the spiral staircase. Maybe Nóra intended to go to the toilet, but tired & disoriented went through the wrong door? It would explain how Nóra ended up outside.

and the door shut behind her? Though the door allegedly doesn't lock, maybe she couldn't open the handle to get back in?

Will be on @thisweekrte shortly with the latest on the search for Nóra Quoirin but also I’ll also talk more about those little acts of kindness to help rescue workers as they move into day nine of this operation

I sadly feel this case has lost a lot of momentum just in the 2 or 3 days I've followed it....:(

No leads or breakthroughs. I can't believe there doesn't seem to be an official timeline. We're talking less than 24 hours from arrival at the airport to being found missing.

Would it be too much to hope the Irish liaison officer could arrange a proper press conference with the family and local police to give a coherent timeline of events?

Police believe the teen climbed out through an open window in the living room of the family's cottage and was still in the vicinity of the resort. They are treating her as a missing person but do not rule out a possible criminal element in her disappearance.

Her Irish-Franco parents, who believe she was abducted, said Saturday that their daughter was born with holoprosencephaly, a malformation that causes her to have a smaller brain and led to learning and physical disabilities. They said she isn't independent, has difficulty walking and has never wandered off on her own or become lost despite having been to other Asian and European countries before.

Search for London teen missing in Malaysia enters 2nd week
Aug 11 2019
"Negeri Sembilan police chief Mohamad Mat Yusop said Sunday that no missing person had ever been reported in the area in the past decade, except for hikers who lost their way in the jungle.

He said police are investigating all angles, including reports that villagers heard the sound of a truck early on the morning the girl was reported missing".

Did the mother arrive with them at resort, or maybe they checked in earlier and she arrived later? Do we know? Wasn't she coming from Sydney and the father and children from London? So did they all meet in KL or somewhere else to travel to resort together?

I recall reading that they met at the airport and took a taxi from there to the resort. Moo

I don't have a link but I believe it was reported that they met at KL airport, their flights arriving within a short time of each other. They then travelled down to Dusun together.

<modsnip - fundraising discussion>

What a nightmare situation. Hard to keep the momentum going when there are few clues and most people interested in the case (ie family, friends, media, us lot!) are thousands of miles away.

Negeri Sembilan state police chief Mohamad Mat Yusop said police have already made voice recordings of Nora Anne Quoirin's mother and family members. He said rescuers will play the recordings over loudspeakers while combing the dense forest surrounding the Dusun eco-resort in the southern state.

"During the search, we will play the recordings as if her mother or the family is calling her. This is another method that we will try," he told a news conference, adding it has been used before in other cases.

Hikers step forward to help search for Nora
Nora-Anne-Quoirin-Rescue-team-Bernama.jpg

Members of several government agencies are taking part in the search for Nora Anne Quoirin.
"NILAI: A group of experienced hikers have joined the search for teenager Nora Anne Quoirin who went missing a week ago while on holiday with her family at a resort in Pantai, near Seremban.

The hikers’ spokesman, Kenny Chan Kai Sian, 43, said the group of 12 hikers began their efforts at 9.30am within a 1km radius of the resort.

Chan, who has plenty of experience hiking up Gunung Berembun, said the search for the 15-year-old Franco-Irish girl was quite challenging due to the unpredictable weather in the area the past few days.

“The trail is muddy and slippery and this is extremely challenging for everyone involved in the search. There are 12 of us (hikers) today and we expect more to join us tomorrow,” he said."

IMOO, I hope LE questioned customs agents that were on duty upon family's arrival at the airport that spoke with the family as well as all airline/airport employees. I understand that may be an expensive, difficult and time consuming investigation. BUT How many ppl did Nora actually come in contact with during that short period from the time they landed at the airport to the time she disappeared? if they havent found her maybe it's wise to consider all passengers and view the vid from the airport as well. Surely they've done that already. Identify every single person and compare what phone numbers were in airport vacinity as well as area of Nora's disappearance.
They're already looking into the phone numbers linked to the area during the time of her disappearance.

Police knocked on more than 30 houses around resort in search of missing Irish teen | Malay Mail
"KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Police have knocked on the doors of more than 30 houses surrounding The Dusun resort in Kampung Baru Pantai in Negri Sembilan in their search for missing Irish teenager with special needs, Nora Anne Quoirin, 15.
As the search enters eighth day, Negri Sembilan deputy police chief Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusop said investigators have also recorded statements from all villa owners in the area.
“We have gone to more than 30 homes and yes, we have also spoken to every single villa in the area,” he said this evening at a press conference in Pantai police station."

"Meanwhile, when asked by a reporter if police received any information from a local who claimed to have heard an unusual truck sounds at 3am on the day Nora Anne went missing, Mohamad replied: “This is the first information, we need to investigate further.”

What is really sticking out for me is that this happened so quickly after their arrival. It's not long enough for someone to observe their habits and understand a good time to get to her. I suppose if Nora isn't able to speak well she may have quietly gone off with someone else, but l don't understand enough about the condition to consider if it's likely. If she needs familiarity it doesn't seem plausible. She must have been awake if someone took her from the house, it would cause too much commotion to pick her up surely..? I suppose it does happen though (thinking of Alesha Macphail, but she was much younger). I don't know, l just don't fancy it to be honest.

I wonder how poor her mobility is. There are photos of her standing by herself. As others have said if there was a narrow spiral stair case, she must have been reasonably able to navigate it without someone next to her. Maybe she did get confused, wander off and end up in the river.
