I watched the announcement in Malay. They are still busy with the post mortem and the result will be announced, tomorrow.

After 8 hours, no results yet in the postmortem examination on the remains of Nóra Quoirin. It is still ongoing and they will have an update tomorrow morning.

This is just awful for her parents to have to keep waiting for the results. But as long as they get to the bottom of what exactly happened that's what matters.

Must be difficult to determine what she died of. Exhaustion? Maybe she was not able to rest, always moving.

Postponed until tomorrow.

I think inconclusive.

He said that her body was not hidden or covered by anything and that he thought Nora had moved around or she would have been found by previous search teams who painstakingly combed the area.

Mr Yeap suggested that Nora may have got lost elsewhere and walked to the waterfall in search of water.

"I think maybe she was elsewhere and walked to the stream perhaps to drink some water," he said.

"The place where she was found is not easy to find. I wonder if she had been following the stream as there were no footprints which means she could have been walking in the water as it was not very deep."

We knew not to touch the body and let the police do their work.

"The police took about 40 minutes to get there and sealed of the scene. We all had to make statements at the police station.

"I feel so sorry for them (the family) but I am glad that we were able to find the body and they did not have to wait even longer to know what happened."

Wow. So definitely didn't drown.
I think it would be relatively easy to prove strangulation/sexual assault, etc but much harder to prove that she did indeed wander off and succumb to the elements. Poor Nora. I pray she didn’t suffer.

Why do you say that? Are autopsies normally quick for drowning victims?

If there is water in the lungs it’s a sure sign. Pretty easy to determine usually.

I’m wondering if the delay could be so they can tell extended family and friends before they hear it on TV.

It's easy to see because the lungs are full of water.

Awww, the poor family :(. If she died of dehydration, would that show up in an autopsy?

I wonder if Nora's postmortem is inconclusive?

Police said that four pathologists - including one from Kuala Lumpur - are working on the examination but no cause of death has been determined just yet.

Yes that is also quite easy to see.

Not sure about dehydration but I know hypothermia is almost impossible to rule as a certainty. Often when there is no obvious cause of death, and no toxins, hypothermia is assumed as the cause (depending on environmental circumstances)
