I think they are alluding to the grandfather in France. He has been quoted in various places the past few days saying he feels she was abducted and implying that the Malaysian authorities aren’t doing things correctly. I have a feeling he may not be as close to the family as he presents himself to be. The normal thing is for them to call him and tell him to be quiet not put out a public statement like the one at the article in your link.

The head teacher at Nora's school in Wandsworth, south-west London, paid tribute to her as "a delight to work with" and said her fellow pupils and others who knew her would be supported at this time.

Yes, in another post I described self contained Special Ed schools as being for children to moderate to severe disabilities. This is similar to the school she attended.

It's too late for me to edit the other one, but yes, her disability would have been classified as moderate to severe. Not mild.

I'm sure all the services that had been provided for her, likely since she was born, were a great help in increasing her strength, mobility, communication, cognitive skills, and many other areas.
But not to the extent that she could easily navigate the challenges in the jungle without assistance. There are still limitations that will always exist.

That her parents provided so much professional help to their daghter is a testament to how much they loved and cared for her.

I think he could be being asked questions by over friendly journalists keen to get a story.
I imagine since comments have been in MSM,the
Quorians' lawyer advised them to make a statement distancing them from unofficial comments.

In the beginning, I was under the impression she suffered from a learning disability. It wasn’t until later I found out about the physical impairments.

Thank you @imstilla.grandma for gathering these links! I notice that on Tuesday August 6 more information became available about Nora’s disabilities, but when it quotes her “family” it’s hard to tell if it’s her aunt in Ireland or her immediate family...

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the family urged anyone with information to come forward.

They said: "Nora’s family believe she has been abducted. We are especially worried because Nora has learning and developmental disabilities, and is not like other 15 year olds.

"She looks younger, she is not capable of taking care of herself, and she won’t understand what is going on. She never goes anywhere by herself. We have no reason to believe she wandered off and is lost.

Mr Gamble said: "In the villa we do know that the downstairs window was broken, so it couldn't have been locked by the family and could have been opened from outside."

From what I’ve seen, it’s only the paternal grandfather who’s commented but I could be wrong .

I didn’t think there were locks on any of the windows and doors at the resort. One side of the house is completely open as are others, so locks seem quite pointless anyway.

Well, since the information was already reported in the media I'm assuming they are trying to quell any rumors that may be harmful to the investigation. The only way to do that would be to make a public statement. Imo

Imo the broadcasting of Nora’s mother’s voice would have only added to her confusion if she were lost. Hearing ‘mummy’s here nora’ from every direction could have made her distressed. That wasn’t the best move imo
