The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing couple from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.

Malcolm Bennett, 38, and Arielle Fortin, 27, were last seen on Oct. 6 in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, travelling in a grey 2013 Honda Fit. Their license plate is H94 YRW with a sign on the rear window indicating “Depanneur Academie.”

“Their loved ones have reason to fear for their health and safety,” the SQ wrote in a press release.

Bennett is 5’10” and weighs 160 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark coat, a red sweater, blue jeans and black shoes with white stripes on the side.
Fortin is 5’3″ and weighs 125 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a grey mid-length coat and black leather boots.

Anyone who sees the couple or vehicle is asked to call 911 or the SQ’s info-crime line at 1-800-659-4264."

A residence burned down after the disappearance of a couple

"The relatives of a couple, who have been wanted by the Sûreté du Québec for a week, are expecting the worst since the man's house was set on fire a few days ago.

Malcolm Bennett, 38, and his 27-year-old girlfriend Arielle Fortin have been missing since last Sunday. On Tuesday around 5 a.m., a fire was started at Mr. Bennett's residence."
...
"The thirty-year-old was last seen at a gas station in the municipality while he was filling up his car. She is lettered in the name of the convenience store for which he works as a delivery man, the Dépanneur Académie."

"Several neighbours say that in recent months, "there was a lot of coming and going" in Malcolm Bennett's apartment, where Arielle Fortin seemed to have been living for a short time.

"There was a lot of noise, it started to stir since last summer," said a neighbor who did not wish to be identified, fearing for his safety. The fire occurred at the back of the triplex, from which the other occupants had to be evacuated in the early morning of October 8."
