Edward Johnston (50) was shot by the police in Malta after being suspected to have killed his former partner Nicolette Ghirxi. He had been harassing her after the breakdown of their relationship. EJ had a history of confrontations with police since the 2010s. He was originally from Dublin, but had lived in Ireland, Scotland, and Malta.
