PROCTOR, Ark. (AP) - A 94-year-old man who accidentally shot himself in the abdomen while cleaning his shotgun is expected to make a full recovery, despite waiting until the next morning to ask for help.
Marcus Sturghill was trying to clean his .20-gauge shotgun when it discharged and hit him with a load of birdshot in the abdomen about 7 p.m. Sunday, Crittenden County sheriff's investigator Thomas Martin said. Martin said Sturghill waited for a home health care nurse to arrive about 8:30 a.m. Monday before asking for medical attention.
