That was pretty wild..Amen Amen he made it safely!

  • #47
I wonder how much he gets paid to do that?

  • #48
That was incredible.

Glad he made it safely.

I wonder if because it doesn't seem like he broke the longest free-fall or sound barrier, will he do it again!??!?! Haha.

  • #49
Incredible to see he landed on his feet!

  • #50
Praise the Lord he made it!!!!!!!!!!

  • #51
He landed fine and skipped. then fell to his knees!

Family celebrating and people checking him and taking pictures....

  • #52
holy smokes! for one that can't get past the 4th rung of a ladder that was simply astounding to watch...what a sense of relief when that parachute opened

There will be a press conference on the site shortly....

  • #54
I watched this the whole way through! So exciting, but I was worried when he started spinning on the way down. Can't wait for his interview so he can tell all about the experience - what he saw up there, and how it felt on the way down.

What will he possibly do next??

I don't know about the rest of you. But the fact that he just jumped out of a capsule from 127,000+ feet without screaming like a little girl just made him super sexy, haha.

There's already an article about his jump posted here with some great pictures:

In the process, Baumgartner broke three world records:

At 128,000 feet, this is the highest manned balloon flight.

It was also the highest human freefall ever recorded.

He unofficially achieved supersonic speed at 729 MPH, which is the fastest a human has ever traveled.

Press conference getting ready to start!

ETA: Ahhh, they were testing mics and then it went away again.

It finally came on and I watched the last part...probably will be on youtube or the redbull site later....

Felix:

"Sometimes you have to go up really high to understand how small you are"

He gave credit to the team and said the part about him got blown out of proportion....he was asked about what he wanted to do next and said he will leave that to the next generation.....
