O/T Hi Dolly!! I see you up there!:blowkiss:
OK, sorry but a little O/T here..I thought Ambien just HELPED you GET to sleep. I didn't know it kept you asleep for extended periods of time. I was going to ask my Doc for some, but now I'm scared. God forbid I walk ANYWHERE nekkid!!
Oh my! I really wish they WOULD take ambien off the market (JMO) I took it several years ago. Took it and went straight to bed....then sometime during the night my husband found me cleaning the French doors (all glass) with WD-40!! You have any idea how hard that sh** was to get off later...?
Did ambien ever cause you to get hungry?
Absolutely...I also would cook and eat and never know it until I found dishes in the sink the next day...Needless to say I never take it now. lol
I can totally relate to what you are saying.
I do have to add that I am normally quite small, 94lbs and therefore, could be that it was simply too large of dose. Maybe 1/2 would have worked for me, but I was too scared to try it again. I believe, most medications are given by body weight.

I worked with a women that would only take 1/4 of an ambien everynight and that worked for her....although she wasn't that small, just average size.
94LBS! Thats one of my legs!!! LOL
I hope all the stories about ambien doesn't cause it to be banned. It really helped me, but a person needs to take it and go straight to bed and stay there.
I'm glad it helped you, but going straight to bed is no guarantee that you will remain in bed! One of my sisters got out of bed at ten o'clock at night----and traveled across town to visit me. We had a wonderful visit, and I thought everything was A-OK, until later on we realized she had no memory of ever moving from that bed. She thought she took her Ambien, went to sleep and stayed asleep until morning. She DROVE HER CAR about 15 miles to come to my home! Another sister got up sometime in the middle of the night and sleep-cooked. (An interesting menu, too: she prepared hot dogs with soy-sauce, mustard and jelly) She even cleaned up after she ate. She rubbed all her counter-tops down with mustard and flushed the dish cloth down the toilet. I also have a friend who woke up in a great mood one morning, turned over to snuggle with her husband and discovered he was FURIOUS with her----she'd gotten up sometime after going to bed and started a huge fight with him. No memory of it!
I'm just one little lady in one little town, and three of the people I know well have had "episodes" with Ambien. I really hope a better way to get a good nights sleep is discovered soon, because I truly believe that there is HUGE potential for all kinds of tragedies to occur while under the influence of Ambien.
