I was looking at the Z32 cipher and noticed it says “zero = Magnetic North.” What if we actually tried that? Reorient a globe so Magnetic North is zero, lay out the latitude and longitude lines from there, and then plot the coordinates people have interpreted from the cipher. You’d end up with locations that could be very different from the usual True North plots.

Has anyone tried this approach yet?

I forgot to mention the magnetic north should be what is was when the cipher was sent, not the current magnetic north.

Reorient a globe so Magnetic North is zero

If Magnetic north is Zero, then Zero should be Magnetic North, right? Except the one thing which can be said for certain is that the epochs for 1965 and 1970 summarized/rounded magnetic declination for the SF bay area at 17 degrees East.

So, what happens if you just turn the whole map 17 degrees clockwise, so that true north is now depicted as if it were magnetic north? In addition, what do the 0, 3, 6, and 9 stand for? 12 increments of WHAT, exactly?

It turns out that if you make the connection that the bus bomb ends with a diagram of a calendar wheel and apply that concept to the map, you can then predict WHERE Paul Stine was murdered just based on knowing WHEN he was murdered, and vice versa.

The next thing to do is just sift through the other letters from the killer to look for similar sorts of matches, like how drawing a straight line from Mt Diablo to Lake Herman Road now passes through a window for December, which makes perfect sense in light of that attack occuring on December 20th. Or how if you take the date of the Halloween card which has the word "PARADICE" drawn on the back intersecting the word "SLAVES," it points directly to Paradise Drive.

Same map, same number of degrees, same words, same murder locations. It flat out works.
