So are we talking about MORE than one FU on the production peoples fault?
Or to put it another way they got 66% of their job wrong?
The Lang sang song or whatever it is called (makes me want to slit my wrists!) was awful IMO was that totally live ??
Why cant I just sing along in the lower key and let the track be the higher key - do they have to match as far as the audience goes? Would any of us, non pros, really "hear" any of this??
Can she sue them??
So cool to "talk" with someone who can explain it.
As far as her production staff. I would have to know whose job it was to play the tracks.
Was it her guy with a laptop using a program to play the tracks.
Were the tracks given to Dick Clark productions on a flash drive for their audio guy to play the tracks.
To avoid confusion there should have been 3 tracks Auld Lang Syne, Emotions and We Belong Together
Now if it's her guy I would assume he would know what's what because he would be doing this all the time.
He would have Auld Lang Syne, Emotions with lead vocal included and We Belong Together in the right key.
Now I'm assuming that We Belong Together was in the wrong Key because on NYE it was the same as the album and not lowered like Emotions was lowered.
Again I basing this on her comment on stage " This is the album version" which tells me it's not the right version.
Emotions: lead vocals should have been playing. I believe Mariah said on stage "There are some vocals missing" Which one can deduce that she could hear but could she hear well enough to sing without the vocal track.
We Belong Together: Lead Vocal was on the track but she says "This is the album version"
So either her guy played the wrong tracks or the Dick Clark productions was given the wrong tracks.
The reason she may not be able to sing along regardless of the key is that her vocal range has diminished.
With singing you have to be able to cover the entire range of a particular song.
When you lower the key you lower the range you have to cover. Aside from the whistle notes she used to hit she can't sing as high as she could.
Yes her vocal key has to match the music.
Can she sue them?
I'm not a lawyer but if it was her guy running the tracks he's fired if her people gave Dick Clark productions the wrong tracks that person is fired.
If it was a DC Productions guys job just to play the tracks there's is nothing he could do if he was given the wrong tracks.
It could very well been a perfect storm of the wrong tracks and a issue with her in ear monitors.
One things with using tracks you are tied to it you can't deviate from it once it starts you are locked in.
