CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Marianne Waters who was last seen on August 3, 2008 in the Waikiki area. She routinely calls her family on the mainland several times a week, but no contact has been made since. Several family members have come to Oahu from as far as Japan in hope of finding her. They are very concerned for her safety and welfare.

Marianne Waters was last heard from by her mother in Oregon on 7-18-2008. Marianne failed to meet her mother in Oregon as planned on 8-21-2008. Information received indicated that Marianne disappeared under suspicious circumstances.

Police are seeking to locate a 22-year-old Honolulu woman who has not been seen since Aug. 3.


Marianne Waters routinely called family members on the mainland several times a week but has not spoken to any relatives in three months. Waters was last seen in the Waikiki area, police said.

She is 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts can call Honolulu CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone.

Details of Disappearance
Waters was last seen in the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu, Hawaii on August 3, 2008. She has never been heard from again. She called her family in the mainland United States several times a week, and she was supposed to meet her mother in Oregon on August 23, but she never arrived there and her family hasn't heard from her since her disappearance. Waters has relatives in both the mainland US and in Japan, and they believed foul play may have been involved in her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

Well, if there was a memorial service in August 2008, and she went missing in July 2008, then her body must have been found within a month of her disappearance.

I wonder what happened to her.......?

There don't appear to be any updates in MSM and the Charley Project still has her listed as missing.

I searched newspapers.com. It showed she was still missing in 2010. Her husband filed for a divorce in the Honolulu-Star paper in 2014. I am assuming that is the same person.

It looks like the memorial service posting was Dec. 25, 2016. I looked on the listing. They used 2008 as DOD.
