I know your question was not to me, and I don't think you were asking for any one's "theory", only what would it take for your opinion to be swayed. I'm on the opposite side of the coin, but let me say this. If new information came out that anyone on the Sheffield side had been flunking ld tests, and LE started saying they were the key.........then I would start listening and look there. I mean, I guess I just don't understand going against LE and everyone else in this case. There is no conspiracy to get Ron and Misty......only the facts as they have happened.

I guess I didn't understand her post, I was responding to her saying she didn't see anything that pointed to Marie so I suggested she look at my posts in the theories topic. I don't see any facts that would point me towards Ron and Misty (or Teresa or Great Granny Sykes), or a motive. LE has said Misty was the key and that she was inconsistent from the start, I don't think the new test results are a surprise or a bombshell, and it didn't seem like LE does either from their statement. JMO

Well said, Shaymus. Some folks can never be convinced. I don't know where the hate comes from towards the maternal side of Haleigh's family, but it's not healthy, IMO.

Not sure if this was to me, but I don't hate either side of HaLeigh's family.

Bold and red by me. We must agree to differ on the bold part, because I think the red part is a huge red alarm that Misty is somehow involved in this, possibly with some other people. I totally agree that her lying wasn't a bombshell or a surprise because that's what it has looked like to me from almost the very start, and from what I've gathered from LE's comments they thought so too.

Capt. Dick Schauland said the tip is one of 1,200 under investigation.
Also, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirms a witness claimed to have seen a man with a girl matching Haleigh's description at a Carrabba's in Knoxville Sunday afternoon.
There was a brief search which resulted in nothing.
Marie Griffis says the family is taking the tips with a grain of salt until detectives can say whether it's valid.

IMO relatives are wise to adopt that attitude. Their ride is rough enough without getting high on hopes falling from that great height every time there is a bogus sighting.

When I saw this interview with Marie in the beginning, I didn't know how she could feel Haleigh maybe in another state and then able to list the states. In the end, we'll know who or how much more closely they could be involved. My hopes as the Grandmother would have been super curious and sitting on my hands til LE gave me a status one way or the other.

Anytime as an outsider looking in on these cases and these sighting tips come in I always don't give much weight to them when the children are so young because I can see strangers thinking someone elses child can resemble a missing child, especially babies.

The McCann case comes to mind with all the possible sighting tips. That case has been a let down as to resolve. Thanks Flossie for your posts, I enjoy reading them.

huh. Annette Sykes said very nearly the same thing regarding this latest turn up in Cape Cod....curious to know whether it's hinky for HER to be reserved until they know whether it's valid.

I don't see the word "instead". I see that she asked to take a polygraph and was [also?] given a VSA test. It could mean she took both. I wonder if they gave everyone VSA and how they decide which to use?

I wonder the same thing Gracenote, from what Marie said she took the voice stress analysis but is willing to take a poly. For what ever reason LE only had her take the VSA. Could be that she past it with flying colors so LE did not need to have her take a poly?

Ya know guys....I do not see my disdain of Ronald Cummings and his long drug and assault rap sheet, poor parenting choices and dangerous temperament as hatred. i believe that he may have something to do with this crime due to his actions, past and present, his lies, changing stories, 911 analysis, body language and behavior with Misty and others. I do not understand why so many view an opinion as hatred and personal affront.

Marie has been scrutinized from head to toe from the start. TN has not. Marie has passed the sniff test. Yet, there are some who really believe she is involved with snatching Haleigh or worse. RC has history of having almost every drug in his possession at some time, including ecstasy, meth and the date rape drugs. He has three arrests of assaults and reckless driving, leaving the scene of the crime....I could go on..you get my point. Now, Marie had and arrest for pot growing in her house 13 years ago and yet posters are comparing her crime with RC. People are saying Marie has a record....good grief! There is absolutely no comparison and where they get the idea she is the culprit boggles the mind.

In people who would scope out crime, the natural reasoning would be to look at who is close proximity and then look at the history. Now, granted just because he has a lengthy criminal record doesn't mean he harmed Haleigh, but, my goodness, he is the one who needs to be under the microscope, not Marie.
