Mark was last seen at his family's home in Tyler, Texas on January 15, 2007. He was home on winter break from Texas A&M University. On January 14, he had purchased a new jacket to wear at school, as he was due to return there the next day. He and his family all went to bed after returning from the store. The next morning, Mark was gone. He is believed to have left around sunrise. His metallic forest-green mountain bike disappeared with him. He has never been heard from again.
Mark left behind a goodbye note for his parents. He said that he loved them and his leaving was no ones fault. He indicated they would never see him again. He left behind his money, wallet, car keys, passport, cell phone, and ID.
Authorities are uncertain if Mark is deceased, or if he simply does not want to be found.
