Mark Sievers - Jury Selection

Is it live stream again?
No nbc2 posted like three different streams this morning. Each one cut off pretty quickly. They were filming in the court room, but for some reason they weren’t streaming. Since court comes back at 2:30 hopefully they will have the problems fixed by then.

I was just under the assumption they wouldn't live stream. They didn't for JRR with his jury selection

I actually watched the whole JRR jury selection live. Court TV only had small clips, but NBC2 streamed the entire thing. It’s actually pretty boring to get through most of it, but is interesting to hear some of their responses.

Hey SCALEX good to see you here! (I was wondering where you were..) Now if we could just get NIN (@Noitsnot) to log in...."bolo" for NIN!!
Since we are flying blind on the jury selection right now...does anyone see MS's relatives in the room?? I am assuming all of his supporters will be females as I can't imagine any grown man would admit to being his friend right now. (ps... your paid attorneys are not considered friends...they are paid reps only. However, they may be courteous, friendly and work really hard...but again, it is their job. IMO. I hope the jury realizes this.) Will defense attorneys be able to author books about their 4 years representing MS? I would be interested in seeing/reading things from their vantage point.

Hmm I’m not sure how that works. Now you have me curious too. I’m sure attorneys have probably written books on cases before, I’m thinking at least. Not sure if we will see anything though if there are years of appeals following the trial.

Even if his current lawyer adores having the spotlight to defend a man like Sievers, I highly doubt he would want to profit from him in re to book deals. Who would want that to reflect on his current business. He will get more coverage by being his lawyer and having other defendants lining up for future representation. Lawyer book deals = profiting on a victim's murder which is not good. JMO

Thank you Oregonmama... You saved me from (frustrated) searching all over the place looking for a live feed. But if you find one later, would you be kind enough to post the link? Thank you in advance. I can not imagine the stress and emotionally charged tension all of you must be feeling as this case is finally here. Sending angels with iron wings to surround Teresa's family and loved ones!

AMEN to that, IQ. Just put TS’s immediate & extended family on a national prayer chain I’m on. Bless them all as this trial proceeds. ❤️

I think there will be so much coverage between the George Clooney documentary and everyone else that’s been covering the case. I’m sure someone will write a book about it too, but I’d be surprised if it was an attorney. Maybe an investigator.

OMAMA, I suppose you are right. However after watching the awkward & disjointed presentation by KF etal. I don't think JRR's defense attys are going to have anyone "lining up" for criminal representation. I don't know a lot about the criminal courts but so much just seemed "clumsy." (ClumSy and not detailed for lack of a better word.) The prosecution provided evidence and time lines...and the defense just made excuses, just odd, odd, odd.

JRR's side is a State public defender and criminals that rely on PD's don't have a choice and cant cherry pick their PD's. Mark's lawyer is private and got stuck with being paid by the state and their regulated fees. Huge difference

Ok if my math is correct... of the 29 potential jurors who came back after lunch, 23 of them have heard of the #Sievers case. They could still move to the next round depending on what they know. But this tells you a lot about how difficult it could be to find a jury. @winknews

Has anyone - Judge Kyle or attorneys - mentioned sequestration? Or change of venue?

I know they said they’re are not trying to change venue unless it’s impossible to get enough jurors. I haven’t heard anything about sequestering, but with Rodgers it wasn’t discussed until right before deliberation time.
