Police in Edinburgh are continuing to appeal for information to help trace Martin Moran, who was reported missing from Balerno.

Martin, 26, was last seen near Larch Grove House in Balerno, around 6am on Friday, 18 November, 2022.

It is believed he has then walked in the direction of Bridge Road.

Extensive enquiries are ongoing and we have significant resources dedicated to the enquiry in an effort to find Martin.

Martin is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, with light brown hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a beige trench coat, black trousers, black shoes and a black hat, as shown in the attached photograph.

Inspector Craig Sandbach said: “Our concerns for Martin’s welfare continue to grow as time passes and we are appealing to anyone who has seen him to get in touch.

"If you were in the area at the time Martin was last seen, please think back, did you notice anyone matching his description?

"If anyone has seen Martin, or has any information as to his present whereabouts, please contact police as a matter of urgency."

Very much hoping Martin is found safe and well. There are a number of locals that have taken part in searches over the last few days, plus the helicopter and dogs were out over the weekend.

A body has been pulled from a river in the search for a missing young man. Police have been searching for Martin Moran, 26, since he disappeared from Balerno, near Edinburgh, on Friday, November 18.

He was last seen at Larch Grove House Estate at around 6am that day. It was believed he had then walked in the direction of Bridge Road.

At around 3.20 pm today, a man's body was recovered from the Water of Leith, near Saughtonhall Avenue, in the capital, police confirmed. Although formal identification has yet to take place, Martin's family have been informed of the tragic discovery.
