McCanns launch new appeal

I absolutely came to this with an open mind. I did not start out with the belief that the McCanns were involved; if anything, I had a slight bias towards the McCanns. I still do feel sympathetic towards them in that I believe they are grieving the loss of their child and if anything, have not been able to express that openly.

For example, I am a fence sitter on the Ramsey case. If I had to jump off the fence and choose a side, I'd probably have to pick Ramsey involvement because the evidence (as contaminated as it was) leans that way. As to which Ramsey was involved, I find compelling arguments for several theories. I have a personal connection with people whose child was abducted and murdered. It's been made into a novel so it has some notoriety. So many things that were said and done by the McCanns simply did not add up to making sense. It doesn't make me a hater to think that.

It might make you feel better to think that I started out believing the McCanns were involved. It's easier than thinking that anyone else might rationally look at the evidence and decide other than what you did.

As for being perfect or not, when we start talking that way, we're heading into personal territory and should probably just avoid that line of thought altogether. I'd much rather agree with you about Australian wines than end up in a back-and-forth that violates TOS. I have some Yellow Tail shiraz tonight and I tried a new one this week, Little Roo.

So we can end on that note.

Texana I want to make clear first - I didn't say you thought the McCanns were involved at the very beginning.
I'm sorry if you thought that as it isn't something I have ever believed or thought.

What I do believe is many "filters" were changed when the PJ started to smear the McCanns by deliberately leaking lies and smears to the press.
These lies would often be added to and twisted via the internet, particularly on certain hate sites.

In my view none of us are "objective" at this point and kidding ourselves if we think we are.

Oh yes, the video on the bus where Gerry mouthed "something" at the camera. Very damning, I agree. What else can you expect from a consultant cardiologist though?

ETA - have you ever seen the video on YouTube of Einstein the parrot swearing? You should check it out. Wonderful celebrity parrot. You'd never think it was actually so foul-mouthed. I think the video is entitled "Einstein gets p*ssed off"

The Express in fact settled out of court so no they didnt win anything.

I really dont understand..how you can sit there grinning about everything regarding the McCanns when a little girl is "missing" and they wont help to find her?

Somehow it seems for the McCann supporters its more about the parents getting off than justice.

Under the headline Kate and Gerry McCann: Sorry, the Express said it had apologised because "we accept that a number of articles in the newspaper have suggested that the couple caused the death of their missing daughter Madeleine and then covered it up", before acknowledging "there is no evidence whatsoever to support this theory".

No it's not to do with the parents getting off. It has to do with logic and facts. In the absence of any concrete evidence that Madeleine McCann is dead, we are looking for an abducted child. And with regards to the parents getting off, getting off with what? Getting off with leaving their children alone whilst they ate? We know they did that for a fact. They haven't been charged with anything to "get off".

Or do you think the Portuguese Attorney General is in on the conspiracy?

Oh please if you really think thats helping...if shes doing that even shes probably trying to see what evidence they have against her.

AGAIN..if they want to do anything..let them go to Portugal and answer the pjs questions. Let them go there and do a reconstruction. Let them go there and just tell the TRUTH.

Thats what would REALLY help to find Madeleine whether she be alive or dead.

And no i do not send money to the fund. I dont waste my money on funding child neglectors or lieing dodgy debt collectors. MOO

The logic and fact to most people is that Madeleine was not kidnapped. There is not one scrap of evidence for anyone to believe this - tho i accept everyone has a right to there opinion of course.

And it wasnt simply leaving there children alone while they ate. We all know that.

This depends on the version you believe to be honest. The McCanns have said they got there at 8.30. There friends have said they got there later so who knows. Originally they said the children were being checked every 15 mins or so. This was not true. Gerry was the first to check at around 9pm. Originally he said he went in and saw the twins asleep. Madeleine he said he did not see and that he thought she had wandered into his and Kates room after getting a drink or going to the toilet. A few weeks later this changed to he saw all three children and thought how lucky he was too have the. At around 9.30 there was another check supposedly. But the guy didnt go right in the bedroom and so didnt see Madeleine. My personal opinion is where this fell apart a bit. I believe he was meant to have gone in the room and saw her missing and raise the alarm. Then Kate went to the room at 10 or just before.

I personally believe she was moved between 9 and 9.30 by R oB while Gerry was talking to Jez. MOO
