I read that he was going to possibly broker a book deal for Jaycee. I think that would be great because she and her daughters would be set for life if that is something she wants to do.
I'd like to think this guys motivations are all good. She has to have representation to deal with all this, so why not Orrick?

Maybe, but even if he does that is reasonable. Looking through my rose colored glasses again, I'd like to think this guy , like most of us here, was really moved by an incredible story and had something valuable to offer her during this time.

hell i really just wish jaycee all the best in the world, and her daughters. i would buy that book in a heartbeat though cause i want to hear her story, i dont know if that makes me a vutlure too lol

here's an intresting question in regards to the girls birth certificates.........
does jaycee know the exact dates they were born? i dont know if she had a calender or not to mark off the days in that hell hole they had her in.......maybe they told her what the dates were?

Heh. That's odd. Maybe his caseload was too big, and he couldn't give Jaycee and her family the attention they needed and deserved? Maybe that article is false? Hard to say for sure, but I'm kind of curious now.

I know this article is more about PG's parole (lack thereof), but is this part true? Who is representing them now?

that kinda seemed weird and out of place in context of the article. maybe they tried to contact him for his opinion and they told them he was off the case? seems kinda weird that 2 months ago he was a a court hearing for the garrido's and was quoted as saying 'i plan on being her for ever hearing as her attorney' and now he's gone.

I suppose it's a possibility, but what could he do that we wouldn't have heard about? The only thing I can think of would be that he'd release personal information to the media, but there hasn't been much released lately. Anyhow, I guess anything's possible. I thought he seemed like a pretty nice guy (and maybe he is), but who knows? I honestly have no idea why he wouldn't represent them anymore.

I think he is a really nice guy, and I am not thinking that after all this free work they would just get rid of him, because they met someone else who would work for free, :waitasec:

It is more likely that he didn't have the flexibility in time required. He does have a real case load with the people he works for, those would take precedence over a pro bono situation.

In any case his main role was to look after the legalities associated with re-integrating them with the system, and that is probably all done now. Jaycee doesn't need her own lawyer when she testifies, she would just be a witness.

yes it doesnt add up.
i remember him saying at one of garrido's hearings 'i plan on being here for every hearing in this case' and yet he's gone after what, 4 months?

There is the possibility that he was fired. Jaycee has a very strong personality. Maybe she wanted to do something like visit those vile people, he suggested against it and she fired him.

Also one of the comments on one of the sites said that perhaps because things have calmed down there is not enough press for him.

She has been a captive for so long; where and when did she develop this strength? IMHO it takes time to develop.

He wanted' and rightfully so; for them to take time heal and be safely hidden with no undesirable attention coming at them.

BUT there is always a possibility that he may have been fired, just don't know why.

She had the strength to survive and still smile and give her girls the love of a mother and attempt to educate them when she only had a 5th grade education. When push came to shove when they all showed up, she held her ground and did not waiver until Mr. G gave it up and they told her. No, she has a strong personality. It will take time for her to not want to see them again even though she knows what they did.

Personalities are partially there at birth and firmed up in the younger years. The teen years just clarifies the personality. She was a happy child and the abuse she went through did not destroy that. IMHO
