Cases submitted to NamUs, and all investigating agencies.

David Elia went missing on Sep 13, 1987 in Fairbanks, Alaska under suspicious circumstances, and on Jan 17, 1988, an unidentified male who seems to resemble David was found deceased in Baltimore, MD.

On David's photo, you can faintly see a scar beginning to the left of his widow's peak, and angling down to his most prominent frown line. Another scar begins at his most prominent frown line, and angles to a facial line outlining his brow. The same scars can be found on the unidentified. The now older unidentified has a bulbous nose (possibly hinophyma, or age related), and his skin now sags even more down his brow. Their descriptions are similar.

The circumstances of David's disappearance is especially peculiar, if the unidentified is confirmed to be him.

Does anyone else find it frustrating that the Baltimore JD had a belt buckle with a name and possible SSN on it, but they don’t release them? I sure hope they got prints and dentals. If those exist for the missing Alaskan, this could be solved in minutes.
Baltimore decedent sure looks a lot like the missing Alaskan, with a beak that was broken at some point.

I see a lot of similarities between David and the deceased. I do think it’s strange that a guy from Alaska would travel all the way to Maryland though. Also David is Native American and the deceased is white. That’s another reason to rule him out. They had a name and an SSN that may have belonged to the deceased but they didn’t release at least the name?! If they still have ahold of that information they should look up the SSN if they haven’t already. That’s so odd. Bumping for our guy. He’s got a potential name and SSN yet he’s been nameless and unidentified for 35 years! Someone’s missing him!

I know I say it a lot but he’s someone’s brother, son, friend, nephew, cousin, grandson, and I’m sure at his age he was someone’s spouse, father, uncle, and grandfather, possibly even a great-grandfather! He might have living kids around the deceased’s age at death. If his children are deceased he’s got grandchildren, great-grandchildren or great-great-grandchildren that could help us out.
