I am not in this speculation camp FWIW. Too few details and too many other variables IMO to say this yet. I am biting my tongue not wanting to suggest anything else at this point. But I have considered 2 other possible scenarios.

I think he was incarcerated in 2009, served some time, got out, live with Caitlyn's mom, and got reincarcerated.

One of the comments on the sheriff's FB page said that he was formally charged yesterday. It sounds to me like this was the catalyst that set everything in motion. I can understand how dad would be enraged.

I would love to know if Caitlyn went to school today. I would *assume* the school knew she wasn't allowed to leave with her father.

I think the original Amber Alert says she was last seen around 7am, so I assume it was before school.

Very worried about her - I hope it's not a murder/suicide situation...

Did some quick sleuthing on this on social media. The stepfather is the RSO. He was allegedly indicted yesterday on yet another charge according to a post I read on the BCBN page (FB). The girl taken (by her bio dad) is a twin and one of 4 children. Why didn't dad take her twin as well, as I'm assuming he's at least father to the two if not all four children? Maybe because the new charge on the stepdad involves this child? Timing seems very suspect... stepdad indicted yesterday, bio dad takes child today. Hope she is found soon.

Yeah, I saw that and I assumed that the charges were behind Caitlyn being at home.

Do we have the most recent arrest records for Cortez? I'd like to know if he had a tattoo.
