The public’s assistance is needed in locating a missing man.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says Christopher William Phelps, 43, was last seen on Monday, February 25th at 7:00 AM as he was leaving his home in Hagerstown.

Phelps was driving a gray, 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 with Maryland registration plates 9DL4377..

If you know of Phelps’ whereabouts, you’re asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.at 240-313-2170.

Deputies said they reviewed security footage from the Pilot Travel Center at 11633 Greencastle Pike and noticed Phelps was at the store shortly after he left his residence.

Phelps was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 with Maryland plates. The license number was 9DL4377.


Phelps has brown hair. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds.

Missing Washington County man found dead

Christopher W. Phelps, a Washington County man last seen leaving his residence on Feb. 25, was found dead this week near Williamsport.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said Phelps, 43, was found Monday evening in the 10200 block of Governor Lane Boulevard.

Deputies said the cause of Phelps' death won't be known until the results of his autopsy are released.

His death does not appear to be suspicious.
