but somehow it is "honorable" to steal money from a young girl, and then announce same to her boyfriend???

I don't see any honor in that...imho.

Or in beating someone to death & including children in that, imho.

jmho ymmv lrr

I agree. These groups think the have honor, which they do not.

Something tells me the alleged "fight" at the school was also only his son defending himself.

IMO this was 1st degree murder. If you need to go to someone's house to talk about a "fight" your respective kids had at school, you don't bring a posse and kill someone.
You just go over and simply talk it out. Or you file a police report. That's it.

This was a group of people out for blood (sorry to be blunt.)
All my opinions only.

Justice for Christopher and his family.
100%

Most communities don't require a nod from the family to be angered by such criminal acts as felonious assault and murder. Perhaps this family is a minority in that community and they don't feel safe being too vocal??
Though they may be a minority in the over all area (parts of Baltimore are very strongly black American), I doubt that status has anything to do with the case.

Both the victims and the stated perpetrators are all white. I suspect that both the victim and the stated perpetrators are members of a local sub culture (thought that it had faded out) that is somewhat similar to Boston's "Southies". If so, everyone involved is going to be at least multi generational local, if not multi century.

My guess is that no one will roll on the homies that did it. Nobody wants to be the next one to get bodyslammed in the street, and have their brains scrambled while the life gets knocked out of them. And, nothing worse in the honor culture than a snitch, right?

It is on video!
I also have researched a ton of Baltimore stuff and reconize this lack of attention is exactly the kinda of thing that leads to a hopeless attitude and a crime ridden society.
There are a lot of weird examples of things that help show a certain pattern of behaviour in the community that indicates the community itself does not think the police can help,or will help. IMO

Very unsettling to know you can straight beat a man to death in his own yard, in front of his children, on video, and not fear catching charges in Arundel county MD. :(

Show of hands - How many think we will never see another update in the press about this situation?

I may be naïve, but I think they are just taking a painstakingly long time with the investigation. I believe there will be arrests!! I have to believe this man will have justice!

I sure hope you're right. I would love to be mistaken. That family deserves justice.

They may, but make one quick trip though maryland court records- an it will show you an abnormal amount of people charged with murder an out on bond or released after 10 yr sentance for murder . It will shake your faith most likely .

I am curious about the suggestion of an "honor culture" and would like to know more about the specific culture that may be at play here.
The possible sub culture that could be involved is similar to Boston's "Southie" sub culture.

Its partly based on a conglomeration of differerent long term ethnic groups from the Baltimore area: Irish, Italian, Appalachian, some eastern European etc. It is also based on a social group: white working class. Alot of their parents worked at the Sparrows Point industrial complex. Others at a large car plant etc.

As with "Southies", they have a distinct accent- well, they did when I lived in the area which was decades ago. It may of been muted by now.

And... possibly like the Boston group (never been around them), the group can be fuzzy to define:

Some locals may identify as one, others never have. It may be generational as there used to be a stigma attached to the group. Some had noticeable mannerisms, but others did not. Some had vague clothing preferences, others did not. They did, however, place alot of emphasis on respect / dis respect type concepts.

I dont even know if the Baltimore group has a real name. I have heard the term "Baltimoron" used. Like "hillbilly" it was an insult or a term of identity- depending on how much the "moron" ending was stressed.

In short.... I cant really describe them. But, when I lived in the area, I knew them when I saw them.

A man has been arrested in connection with the deadly beating of a Brooklyn father in front of his home earlier this year, all after a confrontation started at his child's school.

Trevor Taylor, a 26-year-old from Brooklyn, is charged with manslaughter, three counts of second-degree assault, affray and disorderly conduct, Anne Arundel County police said.

It says Trevor Taylor and Trevor Garrett…proofreading a thing of the past?
Happy for an arrest, nonetheless. *My opinion.

Garrett is his middle name apparently, per the press release from LE

IMO, the charges listed are bogus. This cretin who bashed Chris Wright's head in to concrete ( in front of his boys ) deserves murder charges....not manslaughter and disorderly conduct charges. He will be out on probation...no time served...Slap on the wrist

Hoped for Justice, but I just don't see it here...
MOO

Glad to see that an arrest was finally made! eta .. I agree that this should be more than a manslaughter charge!
