GUILTY MD - Hae Min Lee, 17, Baltimore, 13 Jan 1999 #2 (Conviction Reinstated)

What I'm hearing is you were convinced of his guilt from the start and won't even consider any further evidence that has been uncovered nor are you critical of any of the evidence against him.
I actually used to think he was innocent. Then I took a step back, spent less time listening to the die hards who would never admit his wrongdoing (Rabia, for one) and realized that the "Adnan is innocent" crowd was ignoring a lot of pretty damning information.

How do you explain the phone calls pinging where Hae’s body was plus where her car was after Jay was picked up by police before Hae was found? What does the video store have to do with Hae’s murder when Jae didn’t work there at the time?

Undisclosed are blinded by their own biases along with Truth and Justice and Serial. None of them are going to look at evidence and be like “well actually he could maybe be guilty because this is a little suspicious”. Not to mention they all known Adnan so of course they’re not going to say anything to point to his guilt.
It was 1996 and half of the phones in Glenn Oaks hit that tower.

Adnan Syed’s phone ‘pinged’ a cellphone tower covering the park but a disclaimer says incoming calls ‘will not be considered reliable information for location was mentioned. . There is a lot of tech and legal issues with that evidence and stuff that goes along with that testimony .

Way different than todays records , Also as a side ,Jay had that phone almost the whole day .who is to say he did not have it when it pinged?

Rabbia was the only one who knew Adnan before his release. Unless hey have add more people to the podcast . There were lots of people who considered he did it ,including me.

I don't know anyone that thinks Adnan is innocent that is ignoring evidence. However, The Adnan is guilty crowd sure likes to ignore evidence that points away from him. Almost every piece of "evidence" that points in Adnan's direction has been discredited after further investigation.

Jay is not a reliable witness. The cell phone data is not reliable. Other witnesses statements and timeline have been discredited after further investigation.

There's zero physical evidence that points to his guilt.

I can't fathom how anyone can look at EVERYTHING and still believe he's guilty without a doubt. Could you still question that maybe he did it... sure but to be absolutely certain? Nope.

I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. You’re ignoring so much and writing off things against you as unreliable. Missing the forest for the trees. Adnan was a teenager who murdered his ex girlfriend, like so many boys and men before and after. And Jay was almost as bad for helping.

Nothing else to say to people ignoring reality. The fact of the matter is, if your loved one was murdered like this, you would not be thinking this way.

I'm not ignoring anything.

If my loved one was murdered I would want the person that killed her to be brought to justice. The right person. Not just anyone.

There’s other cell phone evidence of HIM making calls after the crime happened with his phone pinging on the park and where Hae’s car was after Jae was picked up by the cops.
I don’t think the timeline presented in court was accurate, but I 100% believe that Adnan committed the murder based on the evidence.

I agree. There are things that haven't been explained by anything new that has came out. I am going back and listening to various podcasts and watching the HBO documentary. I really like the clips they show of the actual trial. I want to see if there are full videos somewhere of the trial to hear what was testified to.

I was surprised to see this thread title as conviction overturned. I believe it was reinstated, and he was sentences to time served. Still a convicted murderer according to the law. I'll message a moderator since this thread isn't super active, it probably was just never updated.

We don't have a drop-down button for Conviction Reinstated, so we've reverted the button to a Guilty, and moved it into the subform of Recently Sentenced and Beyond.

After watching ep 5 of the HBO Series, just solidifies my belief in his innocence. So happy he is a free man and nobody can take that away at this point. Hopefully, some day, he will get actually exonerated. He deserves that.
