This is horrible to think, but since both women had domestic disputes and were nurses, I don't suppose the attacker could be a cop who has a fetish for nurses.
It sounds like the killer or killers is after mother and daughter pairs. That is pretty strange. I've never heard of anything like this before. It could be a stranger who sees mother and daughter together and then watches them for awhile until he sees a pattern of when they are home together and then goes after them after he robs their homes. It sounds like the focus is the mother and daughter rather then the robbery. I wonder if he rapes and kills or just kills them. How horrible for both of these families. I wonder how he controls two females at the same time?
At 10 pm the night before the burning car was discovered, the Dewits were already missing from their home. So someone had taken them somewhere for at least 4 hours, then they sole a car from another home (they already had keys ) to burn the bodies in and destroy DNA evidence.
The night of the Lofton's murder, the daughter called 911. "Karissa told the operator she and her mother had been shot. She whispered into the phone, as if the gunman were still in the home, two sources said" . Karissa was found in her bed under the covers. Maybe the same abduction was planned for the Lofton's but things escalated, the killers learned and had better planning with the Dewits murders. I still think there is a connection.

I would be shocked if this person does not live in the area, as it seems someone would notice an outsider lurking around.
This neighborhood is very middle class, through the forest is an area of lower middle class apartments/townhouses and I could wonder if someone is traveling trails on foot.
In November of 2008 there was an unsolved murder of a 30 something male on Broadleaf Drive (connected?)
I am thinking the first crime may have been a caught in the act murder, and maybe the suspect(s) now have totally lost control.
Could the suspect be someone who works the midnight shift. Just spent all weekend in the house with the family and then head off to work on Sunday night? Maybe a local business?
The black Cadillac was another car that was stolen and later found. I believe the keys might have been taken in an earlier break-in and later removed as Ms Felton's car was.
( I think more was taken besides the keys) The killers might not always have access to a car, so they keep the keys to later get a car when they need one. Interesting about the wooded/fields bordering the crime scenes.
If the killer was alone in his home for that weekend and the rest of family/parents or wife were returning, he had to get the bodies out of the home fast.
As Courtney lay awake early Monday, another Largo resident called 911 to tell police about an incident that turned out to be related to the Dewitts' disappearance. Sybil Felton of the 10800 block of Woodlawn Boulevard called from her driveway at 3:39 a.m. Felton lives with her daughter and was flying to Europe later in the day, sources said. She and her boyfriend had left her home about 2 a.m. to run an errand. When they returned, her 2005 Nissan Maxima was missing from the driveway.
Investigators think Felton's car was stolen using a key taken when her house was burglarized Feb. 28. Nothing else was reported missing from her home at the time.
As Felton spoke to a 911 operator, she shrieked and hung up at 3:49 a.m., sources said. The dispatcher called back, and Felton said she had seen someone speed by -- in her car. According to sources, Felton could not say how many people were in the car.
Six minutes later, less than three blocks away, a resident's report of a burning car in the driveway of a vacant home led police to Felton's Maxima and the Dewitts' bodies inside.
Among the questions confounding some of the county's most experienced homicide detectives: How did the driver manage to set the car ablaze within minutes and disappear from the dead-end street without being noticed? And where were the Dewitts between 10 p.m., when Courtney found their home empty, and 2 a.m., the earliest Felton said her car could have been stolen?

Two Found Dead, One Injured In Stabbings on Quiet Street

A 911 call from a house in an ordinarily quiet neighborhood in Prince George's County led police yesterday to two men who had been fatally stabbed and a woman who was seriously wounded.
The slain men were found in different parts of the house in Upper Marlboro, their hands bound and their throats slit, according to two law enforcement sources who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities said one of the men was the father of the wounded woman, and the other was either her boyfriend or husband. Police identified the men as LePrince Hall, 41, and Maurice Fountain, 24.
The woman called police just before 12:15 p.m. Officers arrived at the home, in the 11000 block of Snow Court, and found her alive but seriously injured, police said. She was taken to a hospital.
The assailant remained at large last night.
Investigators think the assailant knew one or all of the victims, said Maj. Andy Ellis, a county police spokesman.
The stabbings occurred in a large two-story home on a corner lot in the community of Rosaryville. Aside from an occasional burglary, neighbors said they could recall no serious crimes.
"This is a nice neighborhood," said LaTroy Askew. "This is the first time anything like this has happened around here."
Neighbors said one resident of the home owns a towing company, another is a nurse and the third is a student at Prince George's Community College.
Police described the suspect as a black man in his late 30s or early 40s with a dark complexion and cornrows and weighing about 200 pounds. Investigators think that he left the scene in a black 2003 Cadillac Escalade, with the Maryland license plate 607M880, Ellis said. The vehicle might have had white paint splatters near one of the wheel wells.

6.8 miles away from Largo we have another multiple slaying in a home involving a black Cadillac, a nurse and a student from PGCC!
How many coincidences can there be in these cases? The home is also located on the edge of a wooded area.

In this news article it says "Sources close to the Lofton case say the killer turned off the burglar alarm with a secret code before motion detectors could alert the alarm company. There reportedly was no sign of forced entry -- a fact which leads to a belief the killer knew his victims well. " But really if a victim has a gun to their head, they might give the code out, I would.

Below is a timeline with emphasis on the Dewitt murders.
November, 2008 Delores Dewitt's home at 9704 Cedarhollow Lane in Largo, MD burglarized. Window broken out to gain entry.
January 26, 2009 Loftons found shot to death at 10810 Southall Drive, Largo, MD.
February, 2009 Sybil Felton's home at 10800 Woodlawn Bld, Largo, MD is burglarized. Key for auto taken.
Saturday, March 14, 2009 Delores Dewitt attends cabaret given by relatives.
1:30 AM Sunday, March 15, 2009 Ebony Dewitt's boyfriend drops her off at 9704 Cedarhollow Lane in Largo, MD.
10:00 PM Sunday, March 15, 2009 Courtney Hicks texts her mother, Delores Dewitt's phone, from Largo Metro Station for a ride home. No answer.
10:00 PM Sunday, March 15, 2009 Courtney Hicks arrives at 9704 Cedarhollow Lane by other means. Mother and sister missing. Vehicle in driveway. Courtney Hicks goes to Hyattesville, MD looking for mother & sister.
10:00 PM - 3:39 AM Delores and Ebony Dewitt are being held somewhere other then their home.
2:00 AM March 16, 2009 Sybil Felton leaves 10800 Woodlawn Bld, Largo, MD, (where she lives with daughter), with boyfriend to run errand.
3:39 AM March 16, 2009 Sybil Felton arrives back at 10800 Woodlawn Bld to find vehicle missing and calls police from driveway.
3:49 AM March 16, 2009 Sybil Felton, while on phone with dispatcher shrieks and hangs up. Dispatcher calls her back. Sybil states her stolen vehicle just went by. She doesn't know how many people are in vehicle.
3:55 AM March 16, 2009 Same vehicle reported on fire at 11113 Webbwood Ct., an unoccupied home for sale, three blocks away, with Delores and Ebony Dewitt inside the trunk and backseat. This home is just a few blocks away from 10810 Southall Drive, Largo, MD, where the Loftons were found shot to death on January 26, 2009. Below is a Google map which includes all three residences; the Felton's, the Lofton's and the Dewitt's and the unoccupied home where the Felton auto was found burning. It also includes a home on Woodlawn Blvd (10500 block) which was burglarized in July last year. About 10 homes have been burglarized in the area in the last year.
The common clue regarding the Dewitt residence and the Lofton residence is they both border a wooded/fielded area and entry appears to be through a window.
10:00 PM - 3:39 AM Delores and Ebony Dewitt are being held somewhere other then their home between 10 pm, March 15 (maybe longer) and 3:39 AM., March 16. The killer must have been pretty desperate to steal the car, go get the women, drive back past the home where the vehicle was stolen from, and then burn the car and the victims in the same area. Why?
Because the killer had the key for Felton's vehicle and the Dewitt's were found dead inside it, links the Felton burglar to the Dewitt murder.
Whoever this was lives or lived in the neighborhood and are very familiar with the area. Because Sybil Felton saw the driver driving the stolen vehicle, she at least could tell his race?
The photos below are where the vehicle was found burning and pics of the handbags belonging to the Dewitt's. One is a black purse with a Cadillac logo on it. Police say a black Cadillac may be involved in the burglaries. Is there a connection?
