This came up during the discussion of Jasmine's disappearance. How some cases get attention and others do not. A lot of times people don't realize there's other people/children missing because one case like this dominates the news. Three other kids disappeared the same week Jasmine did (and are still missing) and unfortunately, they might as well be ghosts cause no one is seeing that they are gone. It's sad. None appear to have anyone advocating for them, have seen zero media interviews with the parents, haven't seen any facebook page created for them, and no one's contacted me to list the case on my website which is something I normally get within hours of disappearances like Jasmine's. One, interestingly enough, is a very pretty petite white female missing since nov. 8 who is getting little press attention, and not even here is she getting attention. (I think I counted 7 or 8 entries here on websleuths about her. The two boys missing, a 13 and 14 year old missing since Nov. 7th and Nov. 8th, have no threads at all that I've found about their disappearances.)
Another interesting thing I noted this week about Jasmine's disappearance is that people tend to only want to help during times of action and within their own community. By day two of the search, I was getting dizzy reading all the facebook comments from people wanting to participate in a search party for her. Saw posts from people that were willing to drive three hours down to Baltimore to help out. After she was found, I contacted the owners of facebook page to make a request since I figured many people on the page would be in action mode. The search for the Hoggle children has stunned me from day one because there's been very little community support. So, I asked them if they could upload a flyer for sunday's search for the Hoggle children. The owner of the Facebook page made a pretty nice personal plea for people to search for these children as they were going to search for Jasmine and asked people to share the thread.
What happened? Maybe 8 or 9 likes on the page, 1-2 commented saying they will come to the search Sunday, and no one shared the thread at all, but they definitely read it. Hundreds read it (cause there was 2-3 comments every ten minutes being made on other threads on the page.)
