Circumstances of Disappearance​

O'Donnell was last seen in Baltimore, MD on November 30, 1980. She had a bus ticket to return to her home in New York City's Greenwich Village area that day. (O'Donnell was known to frequently hitchhike) She was living on the street at the time and spent several nights at Covenant House. She went to NYC from Upstate NY to become an actress.

Foul play is suspected in O' Donnell's case.

Judy hung out at Studio 54 in New York City, lived the bohemian lifestyle, had gone with hopes and dreams of becoming famous (actress/singer/etc.) and found herself on hard times. She has an arrest record in New York City -- at least 3 collars for prostitution. She had stayed on more than one occasion at Covenant House. She "lived" in the Village with "friends" .

''As FBI helicopters were conducting flyovers of Jones Beach Island and a dive team scoured the bottom of Hemlock Cove this past April searching for more possible bodies along Ocean Parkway where 10 sets of human remains were found, at least four of which are believed to be the victims of the same killer, Maureen Sanchez anxiously awaited the release of the identities of the so-called Long Island Serial Killer’s victims.

The first woman, 22-year old mother Megan Waterman, was identified, followed by Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25; Amber Lynn Costello, 27; and Melissa Barthelemy, 24. Maureen thought her sister Judy O’Donnell, 19, could be one of them. Like Judy, all of these women had worked as prostitutes in New York at the time of their disappearance, before they were found within a mile of each other in the brush of Ocean Parkway.''

Circumstances of Discovery​

The victim was located in a rural area, near State Road 91 freeway, near the McKinley offramp, in the City of Corona. It is unknown where she died.
She was found in a shallow grave, nude with no jewelry or identification. Her death is being handled as a homicide.
Convicted killer Henry Lee Lucas said he picked her up in Riverside and took her to Corona where he strangled her and buried her.
Lucas is known for his false confession spree while in prison and gave as many as 3,000 statements now presumed to be untruthful.

I know this thread has been going for a while but I don’t know if this w woman had been looked at before.

Judith's case was finally modified with another rule out on 2/24/26.
39 Rule outs/exclusions. - A lot of these Jane Does have been identified as of recent.

I am really hoping one day her sister Maureen finds out what happened to Judy. This is one of the first cases I followed when I joined Websleuths.
