Kemara Alliman
A local Chicago woman attending a conference in Baltimore is missing. Her family and friends are pleading for the public’s help.

Kemara Alliman, 32, was last seen at AlienCon at the Baltimore Convention Center. The two-day conference ended on Nov. 11. Alliman is African American, 125 pounds and 5-feet six-inches tall.

A family member told The Baltimore Post that Alliman was expected to return to Chicago at 9:25pm on Monday, but was not on the flight which was scheduled to leave Baltimore at 8:03pm. Alliman had been staying at the La Quinta Inn on Saratoga St. in Baltimore. She checked out from the hotel at 11am on Monday, according to a family member who also said calls to Alliman’s cellphone have been going straight to voicemail.

Anyone with any information should call Baltimore Police through 911. Chicago Police are also asking anyone with information to call the Chicago Special Victims Unit at 312-747-8274.

A spokesperson for the Baltimore Police Department said there are no updates on the case, as of early Wednesday morning.

*Im assuming to list her as missing on the 12th since she checked out Monday 12th? This might need to be corrected if I am understanding incorrectly.

She went missing sometime between leaving the hotel and needing to check in at the airport. She checked out of her downtown Baltimore hotel at 11am and had an 8:03pm flight to catch. BWI is only a 16 minute drive/ride from hotel and assuming she needed to be there 2 hours ahead, that would put her needing to be at the airport around 6:00pm. Did she have a rental car she needed to return? Or would she use Uber or a taxi (or hotel shuttle) to get to the airport? Did she plan to do some sightseeing before going to the airport? These are the questions that, if could be answered, would be helpful.

I understand checking out on time to avoid another day's charges on the hotel room, but I'm thinking she wanted to do something other than sit at the airport for 7 hours and went sightseeing. Are there records of an Uber for her?

In that area there are many sightseeing things to see. The Basilica, the Enoch Pratt Library, the first Washington Monument, museums and eateries are all within walking distance - equals lots of cameras. I worked and lived in that area for many years. The downside is crime is more rampant in Baltimore than it's been in a while and going off of Charles Street can still put you in some shady areas. It wouldn't be a terrible walk if she was taking the train from Penn Station to BWI as long as she stayed on Charles.

And did she leave her luggage at the hotel so she could sightsee? Most hotels will accommodate that by storing bags until they're needed.

When I've attended conferences where I have to check out in the morning, but the conference doesn't end until 4-ish, the hotel has a place to leave luggage until the end of the day.

I'm curious whether she traveled so light that she didn't have luggage, or whether she used the storage service for her luggage until the end of the day.

Did she disappear with her luggage, or without? Was she on the way to the airport at the end of the day?

Quite often with conferences the hotel arranges for shuttles to the airport at the end of the day. Was she staying at the conference hotel or another hotel?

Or - did the conference end the day before she checked out?

From the AlienCon 2018 schedule, it appears the last event was at 5PM on Sunday, November 11.

This indicates to me that the conference ended the day before she checked out. If so, I wonder why she stayed a day later, with a flight scheduled for Monday evening. Perhaps better airfare price? Jmo

She was staying at La Quinta, .5 miles from Convention Center where conference was being held. Here are some sites in area she could have visited before going to airport.

Thanks! Conference ended Nov 11, she was last heard from on Nov 12. She checked out in the morning, and missed her flight in the evening. That leaves roughly 7 hours where something happened to her. I wonder if there's a debit/credit card trail for having lunch on Nov 12. I'm also curious whether she left her luggage in hotel storage during the day so she could go shopping or sight seeing and, if so, whether that luggage was collected. It would help to narrow down the time that something went sideways.

I know that some cabs really prefer cash and then they write up the voucher for any requested amount so the conference person can claim more than the actual cost. If that's the practice in Baltimore, there may not be a paper trail for transportation costs.

If she took an Uber, wouldn't there be a credit card trail for booking the car?

Missing Pieces Network has reported that she has been located safe. Wow. I guess MPN isn't considered a reliable source?
